Eyes are seldom deceived unless deception is what they seek.
The conspiracies of heart and mind distort images into our desired realities,
whether we crave to find the wickedness in every action or the purity in every word,
love in indifference and hate in untainted love,
our minds will always find a way to quench this greedy thirst nesting inside of us.
Truth a nuisance drowned out by the overflow of contaminated comfort,
calming our souls with subjectivity
and honesty a gift rarely used.
The antidote to awaken us from this lotus-eater trap
replaced by fresh poison disguised as peace of mind.
