I had closed my eyes and fallen asleep. I didn't expect to fall asleep but I guess I was tired. I opened my eyes, I looked around and there wasn't any one inside. I stood up and got out of the back. It was green, extremely green. I felt like I did when I first left Covert. It was truly beautiful, I was breath-taken, I heard footsteps and I turned my head and saw Nate standing there
"What do you think?" he asked as he continued to walk toward me
"It's nice here" I said, I left out the last part; I didn't need to be pitied again. But my mom would've loved to see this
"You really think you're father is capable of kidnapping an innocent girl?" Nate asked me, I didn't know what to say. It was a possibility
"It depends on what he's hiding" I said and Nate nodded. It was awkward to stand here and converse like nothing had happened at all but Nate was one of my closest friends
"Guys!" Nick called, I hadn't realized it before but he was sitting on top of the vehicle. We turned around
"What's up?" Nate and I asked in unison
"It's Abby. She found Courtney. She gave us the coordinates but it's not looking great" Nick said, I walked forward and climbed up
"What do you mean?" I asked, I was considerably short, so my legs were dangling in the air, the only thing holding my up was my arms
"They got as far as Nomad's peak, from here it's all rock, we'd have to walk there" Nick said and I nodded
"Okay, that should be easy enough, shouldn't it?" I asked, I felt a pair of arms around my legs, glancing down, I saw Nate holding my legs up, so I didn't fall and kill myself
"Normally yes. But that also happens to be Savage territory" Nick said and I shrugged
"We just get in and out. Nick, you stay just outside of wherever the truck can't take us, Nate and I will get them back here" I said and Nick nodded
"Yeah, I can do that" Nick said, he was obviously uncomfortable with the idea that he wasn't going to be the first one to see Abby
"Great. We should get going" I said as I dropped to the ground, Nate's hands steadying me once I hit the ground. I could be both an idiot and a genius at the same time and right now was one of those times. My gaze lingered on Nate's eyes for a moment before I heard Nick calling us
