I was in a dungeon. I hated it, mostly because I couldn't get out. All I knew was that Nate and Nick had found Abby's corpse, Abby found theirs or they were all alive and headed to Mount Mitchell. But I had to get out of here. I hadn't said anything to James because I wanted to be free but there was no way that the four teenagers he sent out were gonna bring back enough resources for them. There was two thousand people down there after all. I turned around when I heard the door open with a groan, I saw the dark skinned girl from before, I knew her name was Zehra. She was her Commander's second. The Successor to the Commander that I had yet to meet. I stared out of the window with bars around it, I could see these people guarding every single part of this junkyard filled with cars from two hundred years ago. I wanted to leave but I traded places so someone else could live.
I guess they were wrong about me. They told me that I was a bad person. They told me that I was selfish, but in the end I saved a human life, now I was probably going to be executed by a bunch of nut jobs living in a junkyard
"Annabeth, come with me" Zehra said, I nodded and followed her
"What is it?" I asked, I had grown quite fond of Zehra, she was different from the others
"You're friends haven't moved from their place. The Commander is worried that a war between your people and ours will occur" Zehra said and I nodded
"There's not much I can do. I'm stuck here" I said and she nodded
"The Commander is leaving this afternoon, I have to go with her, there will be seven guards left here with you" Zehra said, I tilted my head
"Why tell me that?" I asked
"You need an escape route. I'm giving you the opportunity" Zehra said
"Okay. But I have to let you know that if it comes down to those seven guards and my escape, that it's going to escape" I said and she nodded
"Of course" Zehra said and motioned for guards to come over
"May we meet again" she said before I was hurried away, I walked back down into the basement. They were good people, they just didn't know that my people weren't a threat
