Everyone was asleep now. But I couldn't sleep at all. I kept thinking about my Dad. I wondered what went through his mind when he died. Was he thinking about my mom? Was he thinking about me? I sat up. I had my escape plan and I was ready to act on it. I sat up, suddenly wishing that Nate was here. He always had something to say, sometimes it was funny, sometimes it wasn't but he always had the right timing for it. I got off the bed and walked over to Courtney, shaking her awake then going toward Abby and shaking her awake too. I put a finger to my lips to tell them to be quiet. They followed me into the hall. We walked for a couple of minutes reaching the stairwell, we took them up then walked through a door when the alarm went off and we heard guards coming up the stairs and started running. We were cut off by the dam.
"How are we gonna get out of here?" Abby asked. I heard the shouts of the guards and looked down and saw a lake. I realized we were going to have to jump
"We have to jump" I said. I saw the looks on their faces and instantly knew that they were afraid
"Are you crazy?" Abby asked me
"Unless you want to stay here, you're jumping" I said and they sighed. I jumped first, they jumped after me.
