Josephine's POV

Victoria is still mad at me. It's been a little over two months since our little spout in my office. No matter what I do, she won't forgive me.

I even went as far as to hold a ball in her honor last night. I invited the lovely Persian Shah, who danced with her throughout the night. I even let them go upstairs alone to play cards!

Yet she is still so ungrateful! I get that she's almost a teenager... I was a moody little girl at her age but still! I'm trying but nothing is working.

"You're still thinking about her huh?" Mattéo whispered from next to me.

I barely slept last night. I rolled over in bed to face him. He was propped up on his pillow as I nodded. It could be the pregnancy as well, but I don't really know. I am just over three months along, and I am just starting to show. I can't wait to bring another little one into our family.

"I just... I'm trying you know Matty... but no matter what I do... I'm the bad guy..."

"She's almost a teenager Josey... trust me, this is about to become the new normal!"

I groaned, "Oh great... but again I acted like this when I was a teenager. I was mad at everyone and everything... I was moody and angry..."

Mattéo chuckled, "So was I,"

"So I shouldn't worry?"

"No of course not!"

Knock! Knock!

"Who goes there?" Mattéo called out like he was a palace guard and it made me giggle.

"It's me, it's an emergency!" Victoria replied urgently.

We looked at each other and wordlessly jumped out of bed. I quickly put on some pants and a shirt while Mattéo buttoned up a dress shirt. I kept all of those sweatpants and sweaters I had to wear during my pregnancy with the twins because holy mother of god are they amazing! We rushed out of the room where Victoria was waiting, fidgeting nervously.

"Victoria what's wrong?" I asked.

"Follow me,"

She quickly walked down the hall and we followed suit after her.

"What do you think?" Mattéo asked me quietly.

"I don't know,"

We continued walking until we reached Victoria's bedroom. She walked in and we followed her and she stopped in front of her bed.

That's when I saw it: The little spot of blood on the bedsheets where she slept. I looked at Mattéo, who looked back at me, and we both knew what had happened. I exploded first.

"How could you Victoria!?"

She stepped back, "What?"

"How could you defile yourself at such a young age!? And with the Persian no less!"

"I don't know what you're mad at me about!"

"Oh, you little fibber yes you do! I cannot believe that you would commit such an ungodly deed! You're not even married!"

"Victoria don't bother, we both know what you did!" Mattéo added hostility in his tone.

Tears dribbled down Victoria's face.

"I don't know what I did!" She sobbed out.

"God I can't believe you Victoria! You have no guilt and have no interest in taking responsibility for your actions!"
