Allegra was a wreck.

She wasn't sad, per say, and she was definitely happy. The truth had finally been unveiled. Pettigrew was in chains and going to be held accountable for his crimes. She'd found her dad, which was all she ever wanted besides her mother being alive.

Yet something felt...off.

A lot had happened in a mere few hours, and it was still sinking in. Buckbeak was executed. Lupin was a werewolf- which by no means bothered her, but was still a shock. She attacked her dad, doing what Beatrice and countless other Del Vecchio woman did before her. Allegra felt disgusted with herself because she knew if she hadn't seen Black's memory of Pettigrew killing her mom...she probably would've killed him. Not even realizing she did until the bell tolled.

Nothing could show how guilty she was for putting Black through the pain of reliving watching her mother die. The mind was a fragile, precious thing. Why had her ancestors given them the power to ruin it?

"Can I sit?"

Allegra looked up from her spot on the grass. Her dad stood over her, fidgeting; he was nervous.

"Of course," she said.

Black sat down besides her, bringing his knees up to his chest. Allegra glanced back at the Whomping Willow.

Hermione was still sitting with Ron tending to his leg. Lupin was keeping watch on a chained up Pettigrew. Harry had just sat down next to Hermione.

Suddenly his eyes flickered towards her, and Allegra looked away.

"How was your talk with Harry?" She asked.

An elated sense washed over her as Black smiled. "Wonderful. He's so much like his father, it's frightening. I suppose it's a good thing, though," he said. "James was one of the best things that ever happened to me."

"Lupin told me mom was one of his best friends," she mentioned, "but tonight I found out so were you and Mr. Potter. Does that mean you all knew each other, and..."

Black's eyebrow quirked amusedly. "Left a trail of absolute havock wherever we went? Yes, yes we did," he declared, and she giggled.

A silence fell over them. The crickets chirped from the forest and soft murmurs came from behind them.

Allegra squirmed. The words were at the tip of her tongue. "Dad? I'm really, really, really sorry about what happened earlier-"

"Don't worry about it," he waved off carelessly.

Her eyes widened. "Are you kidding me?! I almost killed you!"

"But did you?"

"I don't think you're realizing how serious this is," she said. "I-I almost, I-I didn't- wasn't thinking, I just did it then-"
