A N N I E

I sprinted down the street, the cool rain water hitting the nape of my neck, running down my collarbone. I turned the street corner, my soaking wet clothes not slowing me down a bit. I inhaled once, and sprinted off even faster, hearing as Brett grunted.

I sprinted around the school, and watched as Brett and his younger sister Lori stood in the middle of the lacrosse field, with red-guiding lasers pointed at them. I held tight to my bow, arming an arrow and sprinting out onto the field just in time to catch the single arrow that had been shot at Brett's little sister's head.

Brett opened his eyes, shaking his head, "You're the hunter... Annie Argent."

I looked up at him, my eyes glowing their newfound, fluorescent green. "I'm not just a hunter... I'm also the fastest thing in the world," I inhaled, pulling back the slack on the string of my bow. "Now... run."

Kira came out of nowhere, striking down yet another arrow with her katana. I shot my arrow out into the darkness around us, while Lori clung to my jacket, and Kira continuously sliced arrows in two.

The assassins wanted to play, and now I was apart of their game.
