before you could even try to make an escape, kageyama had already blocked the entrance and locked the door behind him.

not expecting to be in such a small confinement with your number buddy, you cowered to the back wall.

"um—" you started, before catching his glare and breaking off again.

all kageyama did was glare at you in silence, with you not daring to say another word.

the silence was deafening.

after what seemed like an eternity, he spoke in an angry tone.

"don't you have some explaining to do?"

"i-i don't know what you're talking about."

"did you just stutter?"

his anger disappeared for a fraction of a second as he heard your stutter. kageyama looked like he was trying to hold back a smile as he mocked you.

"fuck you, i don't stutter," you answered, glaring back.

"that sounds like lies to me."

you huffed, regaining your confidence as kageyama stopped glaring. "now, i should really go back to my team since they'll be wondering where i am and what i'm doing."

you tried to make your way around kageyama's tall figure, but he blocked you.

he scoffed at you. "i don't fucking think so."

"no. literally let me out. why am i even in a janitor's closet with you of all people?" you asked as you tried pushing past kageyama.

but before you could successfully get past, a blur of motion came and as the breath left you, you found your back meet the wall.

actually no, you back did not in fact meet the wall.

you actually felt your back fucking SLAM against the wall as kageyama pushed towards you.

kageyama's hands were at either side of your head, completely trapping you inside.

his dark blue eyes had a dangerous look in them—not completely angry, but very... dominant.

you were pinned.

kageyama smirked slightly as he saw a terrified look flash across your face.

"s-stop," you stammered as kageyama came closer.

"don't stutter huh?" he mused. "what's it like being a fucking liar?"

you breathed in, not knowing what to say or how to respond.

"now," he growled, his gaze piercing, "why don't you explain yourself, y/n?"

he emphasized your name.

oh he knew damn well who you were. and he was now slowly provoking you to answer.

but that doesn't mean that you were going to give in to his provocation.

you gulped.

sir—you're slightly too close to me right now and i think i might faint.

"um," you sputtered, "i-i still don't know what you're talking about."

kageyama raised his eyebrow. "is that so?"

"m-mhm," you said, trying to sound confident yet still unable to meet his gaze.

"don't fucking lie to me."

you groaned. "i'm NOT lying! how would you feel if a random stranger suddenly dragged you into a creepy ass janitor's closet?"

kageyama merely looked at you skeptically, before leaning in close to your ear.

he said in a low voice. "is this really how you want to play? don't make me force the truth onto you."

you pushed him a little farther back, your heart racing. you felt butterflies from your stomach as his breath hit your ear.

you tried to gather all your thoughts and said with the most calm and collected voice you were able to muster, "i swear to god i actually don't know what you're talking about."

ohmygod i said something without stuttering—i think i deserve the nobel prize for that😩

"hm okay. whatever you say."

his words caused you to look up suddenly. kageyama replied without any skepticism in his voice that it surprised you that he'd listen to you so fast.

did he actually believe you?

you said with a surprised tone, "really?"

suddenly realizing that you shouldn't be surprised that he believes you since you 'dOn'T kNoW wHaT's gOinG oN', you repeated in a more steady tone. "really?"

he gave you an amused look. "yeah, why wouldn't i believe you, y/n?"

and to your surprise, with his gazed still fixed on you, kageyama pulled out his phone from his pocket.

you were still pinned on the wall by his one arm and you were in disbelief when kageyama started actually going on his phone.

he opened his phone and seemed to be scrolling on something, ignoring your presence completely for the time being.

uh so you're just going to ignore me now?

ig i'll just go then—

but before you could even finish your thought, a vibration and a loud noise filled the empty silence of the closet.

your phone in your pocket had started ringing.
