Y/n's POV
"Hey, Y/n you wanna go to the drive-in tonight?..I heard Chase is going to be there" my friend, Ali, asks over the phone.

"Ya!..do you want me to just meet you there?" I ask as I curled the phone cord around my fingers.

"Meet me there" she said excitedly. "Okay" I laughed before hanging up the phone.

"Hey I'm going out! I'll be back soon" I yelled to my brothers, the whole gang were also bumming around here like usual.

"What? Where?" Darry yelled back as he poked his head around the kitchen. I rolled my eyes. Darry is always on me about where I'm going, who's going with, what's happening.

"Drive-in!" I yelled back.

"With who?" Soda asked from the table. Once again, I rolled my eyes.

"Ali" I replied.

"You done your homework?" Darry raised an eyebrow. Another thing, Darry is constantly on Pony and I about our grades.

"I only have one page of questions left, I can finish it when I get home" I shrugged.

"Nope...I told you to have it finished by tonight. I know you Y/n, so I know your not gonna finish it when you 'come home'" Darry says.

"What!?..but Ali and I have plans!" I protest.

"Y/n.." Soda sighed "I didn't think you should be hanging out with Ali...I mean, have you seen the crowd she hangs around. Her friend, Hannah Duffel, was it?..she got pregnant and had to drop out of school" Soda said.

"Who are you to judge, Soda?..or did you forget, you also dropped outta school" I replied. I didn't mean it...it's just, I'm fed up with everyone. Soda looked down.

"Okay, that's enough" Darry spoke sternly.
"Your not going out, end of story" he went back to washing dishes. I sighed heavily, frustrated. I walked back to my room, slamming the door in the process.

'Fine, if that's the way Darry wants it...he can have it' I thought...

Later that night~
I opened the window quietly, careful not to make much noise. I put my feet out first as I climbed outside. Luckily, it was a ground floor window. I landed on the old grass before shutting my window, leaving a little crack open. I just need to clear my head, think.
I didn't know where I was going. I just needed to get outta there!

I walked down the street. The nice, fresh, cool wind felt nice for once as I walked. Darry won't even let me go out unless I'm finished my homework, it's pathetic.

As I turned a corner, I was bumped into a figure. I looked up to see Tim Shepard. "Oh, hey Tim" I said blankly. He nodded uneasy at me, probably wondering what the hell I'm doing out at this time of night. Him and Darry used to buddy around.

"whatcha doing out here at this time, kid?" He asked as he took a drag off his weed. I don't mean I cigarette, I mean a joint. I've never tired it, Darry would kill me...which is why I wanna.

"You got any more of that?" I jerk my head towards his joint, ignoring his question. He gives me an amused look before chucking.

"Ya come on Curtis, I know a place" he guides me away. I honestly didn't care at this point.
————————————-
We made it to this dock, below was water. Tim and I sat down at the end. "Here" he passed me a rolled joint. "Thanks" I muttered before taking a drag. I coughed a little, new at the sensation.

"You alright?" He asked. I nodded before taking another hit. This time it was better.

We ended up smoking and talking there for about an hour. I was definitely high at this point, it felt amazing. relaxing. "Hey what time is it?" I ask. He shrugged "don't know...probably 2-3, why?" He asked.

"Shit...I better go before someone wakes up and realizes I'm gone" I state before heading back. "See ya, Curtis" he said as he stayed seated. I gave a small wave before walking away.
——————————-
I took my time walking home. I probably didn't even realize how slow I was actually walking. My eyes were to focused on how satisfying my feet moved every time I took a step. That weed Tim gave me was definitely hitting.

I finally made it to my window as I climbed in...slowly, might I add. As soon as I did, the light flicked on.
