Chapter 10: Are you out of your damn mind

Shelby's POV

"I'm gonna ask you again, what do you want" Luscious says to Hakeem in frustration, we've been sitting here for an hour waiting for Hakeem to make up his pea sized mind on what he wants for his music video. Honestly I'm just tuning it out at this point and I'm only here to talk to my father about performing a song, I hate that I haven't performed at all and I've been here for almost 2 months.

I sigh and get up from my fathers chair and but just as I go to leave my father speaks " if your thinking like this you have no chance at empire" as Hakeem sinks in his seat like a toddler, I go and sit in my fathers chair and scroll through Instagram, I start liking a few pictures, responding to fans till I see a picture of Tiana, can't believe I let myself get played by that girl, what did she have to gain for sleeping with me and making me think I was gon be with her, I roll my eyes and turn my phone off and as I look up I see Cookie and Anika in a stand off until my father kicks her and her assistant out of his office, I get up and follow cookie to her office, I knock on the door as she puts the plack in place, she turns around and sees me, " hey baby, come in I'm just setting up my new office" I smile hearing the distaste in her voice, I walk in and give her a hug and smile towards her assistant who mouths to Cookie "she's cute" I laugh a bit and sit down, she sits and says " what can I do for you Shelby" I sigh and say " well I would say a duet with Jamal but he backed out and now I gotta figure out a new plan for a performance" she sighs and say " baby I can't help you but what you can do is show Luscious you deserve one" I nod and go to say something else when Tiana walks in, she looks at me then asks Cookies something but I tune them out, Tiana sits next to me and I don't react and just play on my phone, I hear music start to play and I slowly bob my head to it, even though I can't stand her right now, she still makes good music, they talk some more till I hear my name being called, " Shelby" I look up to see Cookie and Tiana looking at me, I look and say " what I miss" Cookie playfully rolls her eyes and says " how would you like to do a performance with Tiana" my eyes widen and I go to say no but Tiana answers for me " yes she would" I look at her like she's lost her mind but she smiles and I go along with it, " sure as long as her dear boyfriend doesn't mind" he smiles deflates a bit but she keeps up her act, what is she doing. Cookie nods and says " well that's settled" I nod and leave the room but soon I'm pulled down the hall, I look and see it's Tiana pulling me into a corner, "what do you want Tiana" I say when we are hidden away" she sighs and says "I'm sorry about the dinner 2 weeks ago, I didn't want to draw attention" i frown my eyebrows and replied " what the hell do you mean draw attention, you broke up with me on the spot and now you wanna do a song with me" she comes closer to me and rubs her hand up and down my arm, "I know but I regret that so much, I shouldn't have done that but Hakeem and I have to keep up the act and I didn't wanna hurt you" I sigh as she comes closer to me and our lips are close together as she continues " please forgive me and be mine again" I can't help myself and I kiss her, she kisses me back and it soon gets heated and I pick her up, she squeals in surprise as I kiss on her neck, she moans but soon says " wait we can't do this right now" I stop and put her down, she smile and pecks my lips and walks away swaying her hips, damn I can't stay away from this girl

I walk into my fathers office and see him and Hakeem in a heated discussion, more like Hakeems angry and my father is completely calm, Luscious soon looks away from Hakeem and says " hey where were you" I walk in and sit next to him as I say " I was with cookie and I snagged a performance" he smiles proudly and says " well that's good but with who" I smile towards Hakeem and say " Tiana" Hakeems face changes from angry to shocked, I look back over to my father who looks amused, " well well, that's great but you know she's a singer right" I nod and reply " I know but I'm not just a singer dad, I rap too" he laughs and smiles proudly as he shakes my shoulder, " damn a double threat huh, well you go prepare your verse, I have to deal with your brother who doesn't want to record" Luscious says while looks between Hakeem and I, I smile and walks out but not before mouthing "check mate bitch" to Hakeem who looks like he got kicked.
