I really enjoyed writing this one. I love the personality clash. Hiccup's overprotective personality against Astrid's stubborn one. This is set during RTTE.

Requests are welcome.

Hope you enjoy :)

Hiccup had just finished his work in the forge by his hut when Astrid appeared behind him. He had been strengthening the iron in his dragon's tailpiece.

"Good afternoon, Milady." He said, turning around. Astrid held out a canteen of water.

"I thought you might be thirsty." He took the canteen and wrapped his arm around Astrid's waist, placing a kiss on her temple before taking a sip.

"Thanks." Hiccup started packing his tools back into the chest beside him. Astrid knelt beside him and began passing him the tools. "What do you say we go to Vacation Island. Just me and you."

"Sure." Astrid sounded a little more enthusiastic than she had intended. "What's brought this on?"

"I just thought we could use some alone time... But if you don't want to..."

"No, I do!" Astrid cut him off. She could really use a break from Snotlout and the Twins.

"Okay, great. I'll just go tell Fish-"

"OW!" He was interrupted by Astrid hitting her head, trying to stand up. Stormfly and Toothless rushed to help her regain her balance. She started blinking her eyes, desperately trying to see through the spots, now clouding her vision. The last thing she needed was Hiccup fussing over her all night.

"Are you okay?!" Hiccup jumped up.

"I'm fine, Hiccup." She turned to her dragon and collapsed to the ground. Hiccup caught her just in time.

"Nice try. No, you're not." He pulled her onto his lap as he sat on the stool behind him. She let out an agitated huff, crossing her arms. She continued trying to blink the spots away. She hissed in pain as Hiccup found the wound bleeding through her hair, it was deeper than either of them realized. He quickly covered the wound with his hand to slow the bleeding. "Astrid?" He worried as he noticed her rubbing her eyes, sleepily. He held her chin and turned her face towards him, his other hand still pressed against her wound.

"Mmhmm."

"Astrid, look at me." She moved her hands to look at Hiccup, but her eyes refused to focus. She continued rubbing her eyes, hoping her vision would improve. "Hey, bud..." He turned to his Night Fury. "Could you go get Fishlegs?" Toothless wasted no time and rushed to the clubhouse.

"I don't need Fishlegs! I'm fine." Astrid attempted to escape her boyfriend's grasp but appeared to be struggling. Hiccup pulled her back down with ease, reinforcing the belief that she was anything but okay.

"Astrid Hofferson, don't make me have to hold you down this time!" He tightened his grip around her waist.

"Fine!" She sighed in defeat. She knew Hiccup wasn't going to give up, by the use of her full name. She planted a kiss on Hiccup's lips, taking him by surprise. The second she felt his grip loosen, she jumped up, only to be pushed back down by her dragon.

"Thanks, Stormfly." Hiccup nodded gratefully at the Nadder.

"Traitor!" Astrid glared. Stormfly and Hiccup both chuckled as Toothless approached with Fishlegs, shortly followed by the other riders and their dragons.

"Hiccup, is everything okay?" Fishlegs panicked.

"No."

"Yes!" Astrid corrected.

"Astrid's hurt." He explained.

"No! Astrid's fine. Hiccup is paranoid!" Astrid scowled, crossing her arms.

"Really?" Hiccup removed his hand from her wound to show her the blood he had been slowing. "Does this look fine to you?" The riders gasped and Heather rushed into Hiccup's hut to grab some supplies. She handed them to Fishlegs, who raced towards the injured blonde. He yelped as her leg swung in his direction. Hiccup tangled her legs beneath his own. She continued fighting for freedom. "Astrid your head is bleeding. You're seeing spots. Will you just let Fishlegs help you?" She slowly relaxed, pouting in defeat. "Thank you." He nodded at Fishlegs, letting him know it was safe to approach.

Astrid closed her eyes as she felt Fishlegs poking around her fresh wound, trying desperately not to scream. She hissed as he began cleaning the deep gash.

"Hiccup!" Her eyes flew open as she sat up. She fought to untangle her legs but found herself tangling them even more.

"Astrid what-"

She opened her mouth to speak, but instead, ended up spilling her lunch out on the ground.

"Oh." That was all Hiccup could say. He untangled their legs and began tracing circles on her back as she continued heaving up the contents of her stomach. Great, a concussion. That's all she needed. She continued for a few more minutes. When she was sure she was done she reached her hand out towards the water she had brought for Hiccup, opening and closing her hand. Hiccup took the hint and passed her the canteen. "Looks like we're taking a raincheck."

Astrid nodded gently before resting her head on her boyfriend's chest, allowing Fishlegs to finish tending to her wound. Hiccup kissed her forehead as she drifted off in his arms.
