Inhumanity Unbound
How could something like this happen?
What would possess someone to do this?
The carnage and the pain is intense,
A monster of indeterminable ferocity,
Has been unleashed upon the world.
An eye for an eye is no longer a saying,
It is now a way of life.
This unbound inhumanity is real,
It is here in force with teeth.
It rips into our lives with zeal to destroy,
Leaving behind pain and sorrow.
What can we do to appease ourselves?
We have cried and screamed and raged.
We will do all of this for years to come.
What can we do to make it better?
Take more lives for the ones we’ve lost?
Destroy lives of the living to feel the pain we do?
A nation that is the world needs to stand as one,
Fighting back against those that seek to destroy it.
We need to stay together as a people,
Not as separate races and religions.
Fear and rage are overwhelming,
Let if fuel our minds and fight back with force.
Taking the lives of innocent people is not the way,
Even though we lost some of our own.
We need to hit those who actually did this,
Those that supported them need to pay.
But some did not condone this heinous crime,
We need to prove that we are more human and spare them.
