A Wing and A Prayer

A wing and a prayer

a thought here

a thought there

A wish flittering

around like a bee

a thousand thoughts

Of why you’d like me

wandering aimlessly

through the doors in my mind

Not a clue as to where

it would be you I would find

my heart cries uselessly

As the days go by

wondering and waiting

as my heart slowly dies

No one stops by

nobody calls

as, slowly, one by one

The teardrops fall

a wing carries

my love to you

A prayer is what I say

when my days and nights are blue.
