EMPIRE OF SCOLUS

The ongoing battle has scarred most of the infrastructure surrounding the Imperial Palace. Infighting has broken out in the entire country, lords against lords, brothers against brothers. For the last few days, Imperial Princess Lyneth has been correct on her assumptions.

The lords of the provinces were divided on how to deal with the ongoing coup. Some have pledge unwavering allegiance to the Emperor, like that of the Northerners. Some have decided to break away from the Empire and even going as far as declaring independence, like that of the South. The Easterners decided to stay away from the conflict and solely protect their land, it seems the lord here is planning to join whoever is the victor of this armed struggle.

Everything has gone way out of proportions, way beyond what the Princess, the Prime Minister and the Generals planned and expected.

...

PRINCESS LYNETH'S CAMP

"It is good that the Northerners would be focusing on the South. My spies told me that at least half of their entire force is sent to recapture the rebellious South. That will leave then half the ideal soldier in dealing with us and the East. But if the Grand General's army would stay put in it's current defensive positions at the Capital's borders, there is no chance to break the current deadlock here." Said a General, for weeks now they were left with nothing but planning and talks as the fighting in the city resulted in a grim deadlock.

The Princess and her army couldn't able to break through the defensive positions of the Emperor's army across the river and vice versa, to make it worse, the Emperor has still access to bountiful resources thanks to the Palace treasury and stocks. Both would be needing reinforcements, but with the whole country in turmoil, there is no hope for such.

"We need to call off this 'rescue operation'! We should join the Southerners in their plead for independence, we could seek refuge there as surely the Emperor would be gunning for our necks!" a local Commander argued.

"Yes, the South has lot of islands suitable to be the place of government in exile. We have the Princess and the Prime Minister, we could cooperate with the South like promising bunch of stuff when we are able to take the Capitak once we are strong enough." another Commander added.

"And with their large navy and the runors about then contracting the dread pirates of Groivor. Together with our remaining ships, We could repel any fleets that the East and North would be sending." enthusiastically added by the standing Naval Admiral.

Their ideas spark hopes on the already tired soldiers. The Princess and the Prime Minister were quick to notice how this promise of hope spark joy from the unhappy soldiers. Whom have lost everything the moment they bared their fangs to the Emperor.

...

IMPERIAL PALACE

Unbeknownst to almost anyone, the Emperor of Scolus is an avid fanatic of the Goddess of the Red Star. Influenced by his late grandfather, a pure blooded demon, he has grown deep affection for the goddess. Her murals depicting her beauty were in full display at the churches of the Red Star. He has kept his overwhelming love or fanaticism for the Goddess for a long time, and with his effort to free the goddess from beneath the world has resulted to what is happening today.

"My, my, my. My Emperor, you are not running of vitality huh? Your seed would surely revitalize me of my needed mana. And what's more, I could bare your child, a demon and goddess halfling! How exciting!" said the Goddess of the Red Star as she got off from the Emperor.

"It would be my honor that my Goddess would be bearing my child!" proclaimed Emperor Laude as he got off from his ridiculously large bed and into his knees before the Goddess.
