CRNS KING
500 KM SOUTHWEST OF CARDONIA

The second ship of the Emperor Class Destroyer is at her final sea trials before her commissioning. The large ship is a Cardonian version of the famous Spanish Alvaro De Bazan Class frigates. With a whopping 48 cell Mk.41 VLS, they are the most heavily missile armed Cardonian ships that would enter service in their entire history.

Armed with a variety of ESSM's and SM-2's backed by the AEGIS system they are formidable air defence ships. The ship is also armed with the latest and newest weapon systems locally developed in Cardonia.

One of which is the newest version of the Lancer anti ship missile now called as ELA or Enhanced Lancer Antiship. Which is heavily upgraded to be able to reach at least 350km. It is fitted with a larger warhead, better seeker and radar and a new turbojet engines that would eliminate it's famous white contrails and give it better speed and sea skimming altitude, it is basically an Exocet Blk. 3. It is projected to completely replaced all Cardonian anti-ship missiles in the next few months considering the navy have expended quite a lot of it's stock old missiles.

The second is the land attack version of the Lancer, now called as the LLAMA or Lancer Land Attack Missile Advanced. Which is now also compatible on the Mk.41 VLS and is designed to compete with the Tomahawk missile albeit a much shorter range at 700km and far better costs.

The ship is also fitted with the new experimental long range anti air missile, the Avila. Based on the Cardonian land based A-SHIELD anti ballistic missile defence system. It is comparable to the American SM-3 missile, albeit at a lesser cost which could attract some future navies back at Earth. It is also compatible to Mk.41 VLS and could be also possibly integrated to other VLS systems.

The ship is running at a steady pace of 22 knots even with the terrible weather. It seems the Southern waters are much more violent than the waters up north. The sailors aboard the ship could easily believe that they are traversing the Atlantic due to the turbulent weather and waves.

But for the 7,000 ton Destroyer, it was easily cutting through the Sea State 4 waves.

"Without weather satellites, the unpredictable weather here would be dangerous for some vessels." the ship's XO exclaimed as he observes the horizon.

"Well, good thing the fishing fleet managed to evade the storm. Based on our last radio contact they are at least 200 km off Esden." interjected by the Captain.

"I've heard they've reeled in tonnes of seafood. Might be a good idea Captain to treat the whole crew with some fresh catch once we returned." said the XO. The ship have been doing sea trials for a couple of weeks now and due to stressful tests, the crew deserves an R and R.

"Good Idea, I will be requesting HQ for our funds haha. By the way, contact them if the firing tests are still a go. I doubt they would continue because of the weather." said the Captain as the ship crashed through a massive wave. The bow was lifted to a certain degree and then came crashing back down on the unstable waters. The whole ship feels like a roller coaster.

After a few moments, the radio operator contacted HQ and coordinated on how the test would proceed. The test involves the firing of the Avila missile, it would be targeting a Scud ballistic missile. And the said ballistic missile is targeted om the area south of the ship.

It was a coordinated test between the Navy, Army and the Space Agency. The said Scud missile is actually gonna be use to test atmospheric levels and some sciencey stuff that would be beneficial on the ongoing efforts to launch a satellite into orbit.

Using blueprints and data recovered from Chinese spies that have infiltrated the sole nuclear powerplant and research facility in Cardonia. The CRIS agents were miraculously able to attain the blueprints related on Iranian and North Korean projects involving the Scud ballistic missile as a rocket to deliver satellites into orbit. They were lucky enough thay they were to capture and sieze the Chinese spies at Hongkong.
