I looked down at the fifth negative pregnancy test I had taken over the last few months. This seemed to be my new form of self-torture. It's crazy because a month after I got off of birth control, I was pregnant. But now, I hadn't been on birth control since losing the baby and still was unable to get pregnant. The alarm chimed which let me know that Zach was back from dropping the kids off to Jhene.

I quickly wrapped the test in a wad of tissue paper and placed it in the bottom of the trash bin. I shoved the box in the back of cabinet below the sink, next to my other four failed attempts. Why I keep them, I don't know. I washed my hand and grabbed a paper towel from the spindle to dry my hands. I dropped the now wet, napkin into the trash bin and made my way downstairs to greet my husband.

"Hey babe," I cooed while entering the kitchen while Zach had his head buried in the refrigerator. He rose to his feet and glanced at me over his shoulder.
