I made an even bigger fool of myself than before. I saw the worst path I could take, and headed for it at breakneck speed. Unsurprisingly, I tripped.

You were astute in noting my lack of meaningful communication. (You are probably equally astute in noting that my pompous vocabulary choices indicate lack of sleep and extreme stress, as you have commented before.)

As you have probably guess by now, it has to do with Alex.

I have left you so much out of the loop it would take a short book to catch you up, so I'm going to *gulp* send you my journals again. I REALLY had to hold back from redacting them again. Obviously, YOUR EYES ONLY and don't speak of it to anyone else. But I really need you on this, Gracie.
