I went to church again today, the same one as last week. But today I met the pastor's sister, who is also a pastor. She introduced herself as Pastora Elena. She seemed much friendlier and more personable than the main pastor (her brother) had been, or anyone else for that matter. She has been off in Oaxaca working to build a church in an indigenous community, but is back for a visit.

Everyone kept coming up to talk to Pastora Elena, but she didn't let me leave until she had hunted down some of the younger congregants and introduced me to them. There were four or five in the group when we came up. She said they have a Bible study for 20 to 30-year-olds that meets once a month, and that they hang out together before that. She pretty much didn't let me leave until one of them, Javier, had gotten my contact information and promised to let me know about their next meeting.

So that will be good. I feel like I could use some Christian influence around me physically. I do get a lot of support from home online, but it's somehow different. I don't know how to explain the feeling, but it seems like those weeks of not going to church are catching up with me. I feel kind of disconnected, and like I could use an extra boost. So, if they do contact me, I'll try to go.

OK I've got some homework to finish so I've got to run but I hope you had a good weekend.
