Subject: No Moto to Romería
To: grace-k-nelson@bethel.edu
I told Javier I wanted to go to the Romería. It was a brief email, just, "How about this idea?" I wanted to be direct, but not demanding.
He didn't respond the way I'd hoped. He was also brief: "I try to stay far away from the Romería. But if you decide to go, we can always go for a ride a different day."
So basically it's Romería, or Javier. He gives me the option of a rain check, but I'm not sure how definite that would be, and if I'm willing to risk it.
Then again, why not? I came here to see Mexico, not Javier. If he was just being nice now, he can be nice again. But if he is interested in me, I just decided I need to be single for a while. I don't think I'd miss an opportunity like this for a boy.
I haven't responded yet. I want to make sure of what I'm doing first.
I thought I was fine either way. I thought if he said no that I'd say fine, we'll do Tonalá. But now I realize how much I want to go to the Romería.
Why does it have to be the same day?
