I went to church again yesterday. More people greeted me, like I've become a more accustomed sight.

There was a lunch event after the service today, to which several people told me I was welcome. So I stayed. It was a carne asada - they grilled meat outside, with some kind of seasoning on it, and it was really amazing. They served it with salsa and guacamole too, which was also amazing.

After that the younger set still wanted to go somewhere, so they settled on a Starbucks. Side note: it is funny to see what familiar chain stores are here. When they are here, they are here, and Starbucks is no exception. They are all over. We went to the closest one, got coffees and hung out for a while, and then headed home.

I found out Javier has a motorcycle. He hasn't taken it out much because it's been raining so much. But he couldn't believe I've never been on one before. He said he would take me for a ride later this week if the weather clears up like it's supposed to.  I gave him my email address so we can connect.

This just sort of happened, and now I feel weird. I mean, on the one hand, it feels great to be in a Christian community making new friends. On the other, it seems like I have a date with Javier. I'm probably blowing it out of proportion, because nothing like that was said and it came from the motorcycle, not from some desire to spend one-on-one time together. I'm sure it will be fine.

This is so weird. I went from never having had a boyfriend to feeling like 3 guys want me. Must have something to do with being in Mexico. If any of your upperclassmen friends are worrying they're not going to get their "ring by spring," send them down here. I'll get husbands for all of them.

JK, but the attention, even the catcalls, does get to your head sometimes. I never felt like a knockout before, but here I feel like a superstar sometimes.
