Chapter 16

Tris' Pov
Right when I unlock the door, I am bombarded with questions. "What happened?" Lynn asks. "Why were you there for so long?" Shauna says. Her eyes scan me and she smirks. My lips are a little swollen and my hair is a mess. "Oh my god Tris! Did yo-" "NO! No, nothing like that happened." I interrupt her. "Well, Christina is coming in like two hours, so be prepared." Lynn warns me. "Oh well I'm going early with Four. Something about him having to be there early." I mention. They both look at me with their eyebrows raised and walk away whispering. Weird.
It's 4:50 and I'm ready. I'm not going to wear anything formal since it's a party thrown by football players. I'm wearing a tank top with a salmon-pink oversized sweater and white skinny jeans. I also decided to wear my new Sperry's with bright green and yellow socks. But they're the socks that you wear for these types of shoes. I wouldn't be that stupid to be so tacky. My ends are curled and I have a soft smokey eye- Christina taught me. Instead of white eyeshadow, I put salmon because it matches my outfit. My clear lipgloss is finally on, and just in time too. There's a knock on the door and before I could reach it, Lynn opens the door. I stop in my tracks, in the middle of the staircase. Tobias stands there with a nicely fitted white tee and leather jacket. He wears black jeans and black-and-white Lebron 10s. To top it all off, he's wearing his signature Ray Bans. And he's holding a rose. "See Shauna! I told you!" Lynn cries. I walk down and hug Tobias. "You look good, Tris." He whispers in my ear(direct quote from Divergent). I blush and look towards Lynn and Shauna who just ran up, "Well, I'm going with T-Four, so I'll see you guys later!" I announce. They nod and Tobias takes my hand, leading me to his car.
"Im going to take you out on our first date," Tobias says out of nowhere. "Where are we going? And please don't tell me it's a surprise, you know I hate surprises. Remember the last time you had a surprise for me?" I ask. When we were kids, he had a 'surprise' which was a frog. So I freaked out punched him in the nose, breaking it. He laughs and nods, "Yes I remember. We are gonna eat at the local diner." I smile and raise the volume to the radio. They start to give All Of Me by John Legend, and Tobias starts to sing:

I smile the biggest smile, like ever. "That was beautiful." I tell Tobias. "You're beautiful," he responds. "Thanks," I say. Then we pull into the parking lot if the diner.
