Chapter 5- FIRE!

After a nice day out with Justin we began making our way back home, 
"I was meaning to ask, who was on the phone?" Justin asked as he switched from the road to the path,
"Just Colin" Justin lifted his eyebrows
"I think Colin may have a little thing for you" I shook my head trying to hold in my laughter
"There is no way he has a thing for me" Justin shrugged his shoulders.
"Do you want to come around tonight and watch a movie or something?" He asked as he began to skip,
"Yeah! sure! why not!" as we got closer to our houses we noticed black smoke rising in the distance,
"what the.." I said looking over to it
"Whats going on?" Justin asked, I shook my head 
"I dont know.." We began walking abit faster as we wanted to know what it was, we reached the end of our street when we noticed that a house was on fire, 
"is that?" Justin paused
"oh my god.. thats... thats, Jennys house" Jenny was my mums friend who lives on the other side of our house, mum was suppose to be going over there for lunch today.

I began running towards the house, Justin following me
"Oh my god.." Justin trailed off, i remebered what mum had told me the night before, how she was going to Jennys today, I ran into my house without explaination, Justin followed me.
"MUM!" I screamed, I ran upstairs
"MUM! HELLO?! ARE YOU HOME!" I could feel tears building up in my eyes,
"JUSTIN! MUMS NEXT DOOR!" I pushed passed him and out the front door again, i ran into Jennys backyard and started banging on the door, trying to knock it down to get inside.
"NO SCARLETT ITS TO DANGEROUS" Justin said pulling me back 
"JUSTIN! MY MUMS IN THERE! I NEED TO GET HER" I loosened his grip before kicking the door down,
"MUM!" i screamed as i ran into the burning building.

"SCARLETT!" Justin screamed following me inside, I went to run up the stairs but Justin grabbed me and dragged me outside
"JUSTIN! I NEED TO GET MUM!" I screamed while tears traveled down my face 
"SCARLETT YOU DONT UNDERSTAND HOW DANGEROUS IT IS IN THERE!" I collapsed to the floor and began crying.
"Look, ill go get my mum and well call the fire department but before i leave to get her you need to PROMISE me you will not go back into that house okay?! PROMISE ME" He was so serious, i nodded and watched him run off. moments later he returned with his mum on his arm
"Oh My Lord" She exclaimed
"What happened?!" She asked me
"I DONT KNOW! I THINK MUMS IN THERE" she was holding the phone up to her ear,
"uh hello fire department?" she began telling them the adress and they told her they would be there within 10 minutes.  I stoof up and moved back away from the burning house as Justins mum had requested.

I stood there and watched as the second story fell through to the ground 
"MUM!" I screamed as i dropped to the ground, i was so sure she was gone, it was terrifying. Justin crouched down to my leven and put his hand on my back trying to keep my calm, The fir department turned up and began putting out the fire. 
"Look their putting out the fire, everything is going to be okay" Justin helped me up
"BUT MUMS PROBABLY GONE BY NOW!" He didnt know what to do.
"Do you mind answering a few questions?" one of the fire fighters asked me, I shook my head 
"No.. i dont mind"
"Do you know what caused the fire?" I shook my head once again
"No... i dont, im sorry i was out" I began to cry even more
"was there anyone in the house" i covered my face and collapsed to the ground once more, Justin stepped foward,
"We dont know for sure but we think her mum may have been in there"

as Justin said this a car came speeding down the street and stopping right in front of my house,
"SCARLETT!" It was mum and Jenny,
"Mum? MUM?! MUM!" I ran over and hugged onto her so tight
"I THOUGHT YOU WERE IN THERE, I THOUGHT YOU WERE GONE" Mum began crying while squeazing me back
"MY HOUSE!" Jenny screamed running over to the front lawn she began to cry
"WHAT HAPPENED TO MY HOUSE?!" Mum finished hugging me and pulled away
"I THOUGHT YOU HAD SET THE HOUSE ON FIRE WHEN I SAW SMOKE RISING!" We both ran over to Jenny
"MY HOUSE! ITS GONE" She held her head in her hands and began to weep, the fire fighter walked over to Jenny and helped her up 
"Do you know how this fire started at all?" She nodded
"I LEFT THE STOVE ON! IT WAS AN ACCIDENT I SWEAR! THE CURTAINS MUSTVE CAUGHT LIGHT"

after hours and hours of standing outside talking to the fire fighters, they finally moved on, Justin wakled over to me and wiped away my tears 
"are you still up for a movie night?" I let out a breath of air
"I think im going to need it after an afternoon like this" He patted me on the back,
"Do you want to come straight over?" I put up my finger
"one second" I ran over to Jenny who was still crying about her house that had Just been burnt to the ground, she was going to be staying with us until she either re built or bought a new house. 
"Im really sorry about your house Jen, if i was home i wouldve tried to stop it, trust me i wouldve" She gave me a hug
"Its okay.." Mum let out a sigh 
"I think its a good idea if you go out for a while scar.. just so we can sort things out" I nodded
"Im going over to Justins" Mum gave me a kiss on the forhead and sent me back over to Justin. I checked my phone, it was  6:00Pm and i was ready to Just sit back and let all this stress off my shoulders.
