Charlottes' pov

The sound of my alarm jolted me awake, pulling me from the depths of sleep. It was 5 AM, and in just an hour, Engfa would be arriving.

Today was the day of our flight to Seattle, and the reality of leaving hit me like a ton of bricks.

I turned to Mew, who was still peacefully sleeping beside me. Gently, I wrapped my arms around him, savoring the warmth of his embrace. I pressed a soft kiss to his forehead, running my fingers through his hair. It was moments like these that I cherished the most – the quiet intimacy of the morning, just the two of us.

As I held him close, a pang of sadness washed over me. I realized that this would be the first time we'd be apart since we got together, and the thought tugged at my heartstrings. Despite the excitement of the trip ahead, I couldn't shake the feeling of apprehension and longing that gnawed at me.

But I knew I had to push those feelings aside. This trip was important for my career, and I couldn't let my emotions get in the way.

Still, as I watched Mew sleep, I couldn't help but wonder how I would manage without him by my side.

After rousing myself from bed, I embarked on a flurry of activity to prepare for the journey ahead. I double-checked my suitcase, ensuring I had all the necessary documents and essentials for the trip.

Meanwhile, Mew busied himself in the kitchen, brewing a fresh pot of coffee. The aroma wafted through the air, comforting and familiar.

As I finished packing, I joined Mew in the kitchen, wrapping my arms around him from behind. He turned to face me, a warm smile lighting up his face. "You're going to miss me, aren't you?" he teased gently, knowing all too well how attached we were to each other.

I chuckled softly, nodding in agreement. "Of course I will," I admitted, resting my head against his chest. "But I know you'll manage just fine without me."

Mew shook his head, his expression earnest. "It won't be the same without you here," he confessed. "But I want you to have fun and enjoy yourself."

I squeezed him tighter, feeling a pang of guilt for leaving him behind. "I promise to call you every day," I vowed, hoping to alleviate some of his worries.

We stood there in the kitchen, savoring our morning coffee and tea, enjoying each other's company in the quiet moments before the hustle and bustle of the day. Despite the impending separation, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the love and support Mew always showered upon me.

As I finished my morning routine, my phone buzzed with a message from Engfa, indicating she was waiting outside.

Gathering my belongings, I bid farewell to Phalo and Joy, giving them both a tight hug before heading out the door.

As I made my way downstairs, a wave of apprehension washed over me. Yesterday's encounter with Engfa at the restaurant lingered in my mind, her inexplicable outburst leaving me puzzled and uneasy.

Mew, ever the supportive partner, joined me outside, carrying my suitcase. His presence offered some comfort amidst the swirling thoughts in my mind.

Together, we walked towards the waiting car, ready to embark on the journey ahead.

As we approached Engfa's car, Mew couldn't help but express his awe at its sleek design and tinted windows. "Wow, her car is amazing," he whispered, his eyes wide with admiration. I couldn't help but chuckle at his reaction, sharing in his amusement.

As I turned to Mew for one last embrace and a tight kiss, relishing the warmth of his affection, the tinted window of the car behind us slid down, revealing Engfa, her expression firm behind her sunglasses. "We're going to miss the flight if you don't hurry up, Charlotte," she stated firmly, her voice cutting through the moment.
