Divine violence.

Third person…

Shaye was picked up and thrown across the floor. She was losing so much blood and on the verge of death. Mykel didn’t care much so he just left her there. “You should have seen this coming, Shaye.” Mykel shrugged looking at her.

Shaye coughed up some blood and looked at him.

“I’m sorry. No matter what, I still love you.” she whispered as tears rolled down her face. Mykel knew he still loved her but he felt so betrayed that he was blinded. Blinded by the anger and betrayal that was swimming through his body.

Mykel knelt down and kissed her on the forehead. “I still love you too.” he gave her a small smile. Tears watered in his eyes but he wasn’t going to let it fall. He stood up and walked out of the basement.

Leaving the love of his life to die.

This was the end of Shaye Clarke.

“Go.”

The bomb went off.

Half the building collapsed leaving only dust to swim through the air. Aelin and Clarke-Hawks assassins run in. Guns pointed out in front of them. Gun shots ring through the air as the bullets hit their opponent.

Mykel had been waiting for this day.

Blyana booted one of the men in the stomach and shot him in the head. She did a handspring backwards avoiding the knife that was going to attack her from behind. She shot another one and another one until she knew she was free.

She looked at her mother and saw she was also free.

“Mum!” Blyana ran to her mother. “Go and find Shaye, I will handle Mykel.” Blyana said and tried to walk away but Imana gripped her arms. “No, I will deal with him. He’s my father.” Imana didn’t want Blyana to fight him.

The man was very, very strong.

“Mum, I need to sort him out. He is the one that did this to me.” Blyana said but Imana shook her head frantically. “No, I will do it!” Imana shouted but Blyana pulled her into a hug. “He ruined my life, not you. Not Brayson, Tobias or any of my brothers. He did it, so let me finish him.”

Blyana kissed her mother’s cheek.

“I will kill him and come out alive.” Imana nodded and Blyana smiled. “Go and find Shaye.” Blyana walked off while Imana stared at her. She was pondering if she should follow her daughter or go find her mother.

“Ms Clarke, we found a body down in the basement.”

Blyana knew exactly where her grandfather was. She opened the door to find her grandfather sitting behind his desk in a chair, staring at her. Blyana looked at him while he looked back at her.

Mykel sighed, “Close the door before you sit down.” Mykel said. Blyana stared at him for a while, not moving an inch. “Oh come on, little one. There is always a talk before the fight.” He was right and she knew it.

She sighed, entering the office before closing the door.

The Aelin assassins move the chunks of the building off Shaye. She had been laying in her pool of blood for hours.

Imana’s eyes widened, “Mother?” Imana walked to her mother and fell to the floor. Her clothes were stained with Shaye’s blood as she picked up her head to rest against her’s. “Mum? Can you hear me?” Tears rolled down her face.

“I’m sorry, please. Please, wake up.”

All Aelin empires bow their heads in respect as they watch their boss’ mother weep in sadness.
