I wish I could be a better me for you.

Blyana pov…

I hate my life.

I thought it was going okay and that my life was starting to shape up a bit but no. Everyone now knows about my miscarriages and Darren raped me. I want to say that I don't care but I do.

Corbin knows as well and I'm scared. He probably doesn't like me anymore and is disgusted by me but I understand. I mean, who wouldn't? I get it. Fuck, I think I'm about to throw up.

I'm out of the hospital but the doctor said I couldn't travel yet. I have to fully recover and let my ribs heal before boarding a plane. I called Miles and told him there was a family situation or whatever. He said he will handle everything and gives me his wishes.

Were in one of the safe houses that Tobias owned.

I'm in a bedroom, on the bed just overthinking everything. Brayson said that Corbin was coming over to see me but I can't think straight.

I still don't understand what he sees in me.

I'm not a poem, beautifully written and composed. I will never be a song, remembered and euphonious. I will never be a novel, coherent and captivating. I will forever be that unwritten thought, the half written story.

The long forgotten melody.

"Blyana?!" I turned my head and Corbin was looking at me with concern. "What's wrong? Are you okay?" He asked, holding my hand. I carefully sit up and he helps me. I just stare at him while he helps me sit up against the backboard.

He looked at me, "Now what's wrong with my baby?" He smiled, pecking my lips. I looked away from him and stared at the wall. "Blyana, what's wrong?" He tapped my cheek. I looked at him…

"Do you still like me?" He looked at me confused. "Do you still have actual feelings after you know what happened to me?" I asked and he laid down on the bed next to me. "Of course I do, did Vincent feed you lies?" He asked.

"Vincent? Why would-" I stop speaking and just sighed. "Blyana, I still care for you and like you. Your my girlfriend and I will always be here for you. Whatever happened to you isn't your fault and never will be."

I looked at him and he smiled.

"Stop overthinking and focus on how you're going to get better now." He kisses my cheek and rests my head on his shoulder. "Thank you." I mumble. "Anything for my Yana." I smile as he kisses my forehead.

The door opened and in came mum and Tobais. "How are you feeling? Mum asked and I hummed. "Fine, I guess." She nodded and looked at Tobias. "Um, I'll leave you guys alone." Corbin squeezed my hand and got up from the bed. He walked out and closed the door.

Tobias sighed and sat on the edge of the bed.

"Despite everything that happened and what I put you through, you still saved me. You risked your life for me and I'm thankful. Thank you Blyana and truly, I do want to make a relationship with you. Something I should have done 2 years ago."

I nodded at him, "well, you're welcome." He smiled. "I think it would have been better if your mother didn't run away with Brayson and you. We wouldn't be having this conversation right now." Mum rolled her eyes.

"And leave them to become those spoiled, disrespectful boys you call sons. Yeah, right." She scoffed. "They’re your sons as well, remember that." He told her and she sighed. "You still need to speak to Blaze as well." I furrowed my eyebrows. "I'll speak to him later." She rolled her eyes.

"Why do you need to speak to Blaze?" I asked, confused. "Don't worry, just focus on getting better." I nodded but then realised. I looked at mum and Tobais. "You two." They looked at me. "What?" Tobias asked.

"You're in the same room." I raised my eyebrows. "I never minded being in the same room as your mother." Tobias smiles at her. "Well I did and I always will." She rolled her eyes and sat down on the bed next to me. "I need to change her bandage." She looked at him.

"Okay, food will soon be ready." He kissed my forehead and walked out. "Take off your top so I can clean the wound?" I did as she said. She brought out the first aid kit and arranged the things.

"How do you still hate him?" I looked at mum and she looked at me confused. "Hate who?" She gently dabbed on the wound, cleaning it. "Tobias. How do you still hate him?" She sighed. "I don't hate him, I just don't care for him. How else do you think you and your brothers got here?" I grimaced my face.

"So why don't you give him a chance?" She looked at me like I was stupid. "A chance? Have you forgotten what he did to you? To Brayson? No thank you." She wrapped my stomach with a bandage. "He loves you though."

"I've never loved him and I don't think I ever will. He knows that and is willing to live with it." I nodded and she put the first aid kit away. The door opened, "Food's ready." Blaze said and mum helped me out of the bed. He looked at mum and mum gave him a small smile.

"Let's talk later." He nodded and opened the door wider for us. "Did I miss something?" I mumbled but mum just patted my back. “Don’t worry.” Blaze smiled and I looked at him confused.

Since when was he ever happy to see me?

When was the last time he even smiled at me?

“Corbin left but said he will call you later.” I nodded at Blaze and we entered the giant dining room. I sat down and we all started to eat. Everyone was just quiet and awkward.

"When was the last time we all sat down together?" Tobias said. Everyone just kept quiet and continued to eat. "When will you recover?" I looked up and Phaedra was looking at me. "Ask my ribs." She rolled her eyes. "I want to go back to Scotland." She sighed.

"Then go back." Vincent mumbled. "Vincent." Mum looked at him with a warning glare. "So Tobias, this is how you brought up your sons? Cute." She laughed. "Nice to see you finally talking to me, Phaedra." Dad smiled, shaking his head. "You don't have kids so what would you know about raising a kid?" Vincent rolled his eyes.

"Can you shut the fuck up?" I told him. "Someone come get their son." Ronan laughed. "I actually can’t believe I'm actually related to these people." Phaedra sighed. “If you hate us so much, why are you here?” Vincent asked.

“Vincent, shut the fuck up.” Brayson glared at him.

“Why is Robert trying to kill his only granddaughter?”

Everyone stopped whatever they were doing and looked at Tobias. “Who’s Robert?” Davin asked. Tobias looked up and looked at mum, “Why is your father trying to kill Blyana?” She huffed.

“He’s not my father and you know that.” she rolled her eyes. “Unfortunately, he is. Answer the question.” He looked at me then back at her. “I don’t know,” she looked at him. “I really don’t know but I think he’s doing it to get to me.” She answered.

I put my fork down and huff in annoyance.

I hate this shit so much.
