"...because why would should it be up to non-vagina holders to decide whether or not a woman should or should not keep a fetus? Its not even alive yet. Its just a pile of spaghetti sauce-like still growing. It basically looks like a clumpy puddle of period" Hailey said through the mic, which earned gasps and snickers from everyone in the room. I hated her but even I couldn't help but laugh at what she said.

"Language please, Miss Carmen. We're here for the merits of the argument, not the very disturbing details" Mr. Joy, the head of the debate team said.

"I'm sorry" Hailey said sheepishly "But you can't discredit the fact that what I said is true" she said as he held both her hands up and pursed her lips. I let out a laugh and rolled my eyes as I leaned on the door frame of the auditorium.

I didn't even mean to come here and watch this stupid debate meet. I was just looking for Casey and thought that she might be here supporting her bestie.

But even with the hate I felt for Hailey, I sure as hell couldn't help but be amazed at how passionate she was going through this. Especially at how Hailey could be when trying to prove a point. She did have the intense need to prove she's right.

Don't get me wrong, she's still definitely the type of person to say sorry and accept if she's wrong, but the intensity from her was just... cool.

Man, I feel sorry for the dumbass who falls in love with her.

"So yeah, that's why I decided to change my major to pre-law and now here we are" Hailey said, after telling me why she changed majors and suddenly decided to be a lawyer.

I smiled. Not to brag, but I did call it.

"Im glad it's working out for you" I told her as she smiled back at me.

"Anyway, how bout you? What have you been up to? How'd you end up here?" She asked as she grabbed her beer and took a sip.

Oh man, where do I begin?

So instead of answering her, I signaled to the waiter.

"Hi, can I get two more beers please? Thanks" I told the waiter, who simply nodded and headed back to the kitchen. I turned to Hailey and she just looked at me confused and waiting for me to start talking "Oh it's a long story. Hope you got the time for it"

The waiter came back not even a minute later and handed us the two beers

"So let's start with... the second semester of freshman year" I began as Hailey sat up and focused all her attention to me.

Frankly, I had no idea how long I was rambling.

I didn't even know that my story was so long until Jake and Max said that it was already almost 5am and almost everyone at the bar were gone.

Man, time moved so fast.

I know I'm being an asshole right now for wanting to keep Hailey with me even for just a bit more, so I offered to walk her home, and took a detour to an Indian place I always went to every time I craved Indian food.

And there, we spent a couple more hours talking, continuing the conversation we were having back at the bar before I eventually actually walked her back to her place at 7 am.

You know that overwhelmed feeling you get when you feel certain feelings that you haven't felt in so long?

It felt so foreign that you just can't stop being frozen for a bit while you let your system marinate to that feeling.
