Third person

Jenn sat on the park bench with her book close to her face as her eyes darted across the pages reading every detail ailing at funny parts. Her mom said she needed to get out more and stop reading inside, so that's exactly what's she's doing. The thing was, after she finished this book she didn't have another so she made a mental note to stop by the book store.

All of the sudden rain started falling from the sky and she quickly closed her book and put it in her purse spine up hoping this would reduce the chance of the pages getting ruined. She walked down the sidewalk moving out of the way as people ran past her giving her weird looks for just walking leisurely in the rain. She had no reason to run. It's not like she had somewhere to be and it wasn't lightning. Besides, the rain was really nice. It wasn't cold, it was warm since it was the middle of summer. She quite enjoyed the rain to be honest.

Soon she does reach the library and enters running her hands through her wet hair. Hopefully the librarian didn't mind her the wet soles of her shoes. She started walking through the aisles of books from teen fiction to science fiction and fantasy. Those were her favorite genres, and she didn't want to expand her variety, at least not now. The book she has now, Allegiant, was Sci Fi so she was looking for something else.

After searching down the aisle she finally found a book called Eleanor and Park that looked interesting from the back's summary. She decided to get it and started walking towards the exit. Once she paid and got a coffee she thanked the clerk walking towards the door before hitting something rather hard and falling on her butt cursing under her breath since her new book was now ruined.

"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry." The person says offering her a hand. She takes it saying it was nothing even though she was really sad about the not coffee stained book. "You just bought this didn't you?" The cute boy asks picking up the book and empty coffee cup. She bits her lip before nodding hoping he won't say what he says next. "I'll buy you a new copy don't worry." Jenn wasn't exactly a girl to take favors like this. She always felt to be independent as possible and she didn't want someone to pay for something she could easily pay for herself.

"No it's fine seriously." She tries to tell him but he shakes his head instantly picking up it was realistic fiction and heads over to that isle. Jenn had two choices here: 1. Run and don't look back or 2: follow him and let him do what he pleases... not in that way.

She decides to pick number two mainly because he was cute, but knowing he was probably taken. I mean any girl who liked books would take her chance anytime she saw a guy looking through books (unless he was looking at books at how to have sex) and since she was one, she figured another one had snatched him up already. Then again he could just be coming to get some coffee. Their coffee is pretty popular.

He skims his hand along the spine of the books but stops at the cream colored spine and pulls out the last one holding it in his hand handing it to Jenn. "I'm Preston by the way." He states with a subtle smile.
"Jenn." They shake hands and walk up to the counter where he pays for it and gets a another coffee to her and his liking.

"Can you stick around or do you have somewhere you need to be?" He asks motioning towards a patio table for two.
"I have time." She smiles as they walk over. He pulls out the closest chair for her and she thanks him sitting down putting the book her purse. He walks across the table and sits down and begin talking about random things.

-----

"I had fun." Jenn says after checking her phone realizing she should be home soon. "But I should get going."
"Okay it was a pleasure to meet you." Preston smiles as they get up. "See you around?" He asks rubbing the back of his neck nervously. They obviously had a connection and she nods after a second not wanting to seem too eager.

"Yeah. I'd enjoy that." They say goodbye and part ways before she realizes they never exchanged numbers, but he was no where in sight. She sighs sitting on her previous park bench taking her new books out to read a little more about it. To her surprise when she opens it a small piece of paper falls out and she examines reading the words:

Preston's number :D
