Warnings: guns, mentions of trauma, mentions of attempted killings, injuries, blood, violence, shootings, grand theft auto, swearing

Vic had to admit, it was one of their better plans. Of course, there were still a hundred ways it could go wrong. Nolan might not take the bait. They might not draw any of the guys to the place.

They might die.

But it was one of the better ones.

Liam pulled out his phone and called Mason. "Did it work?" he asked. He didn't need to put it on speaker, the other two supernaturals could hear him perfectly.

"Yup," Mason confirmed. "Nolan's right behind me. Literally, right behind me. He's driving a bright red car. He's actually terrible at this."

Vic smiled.

"Okay, just be careful," Liam warned.

"Okay." And then the conversation was over.

"You planning another little earthquake?" Theo asked the grizzly. Liam glared at him, but the older boy ignored it.

"I don't plan them," she answered. "They just...happen. At the worst possible times."

"Maybe you just haven't figured out how to control it yet," the chimera pointed out.

"Nope."

"How do you do that anyway?" Liam asked.

Vic shrugged, looking out the window. "I'm not sure. Before, it was like... talking to someone on the phone. You can hear them and understand what they're saying. But you also know that they're not with you and that they are their own person.

"Now, it doesn't feels like that. It feels like there's no other person. It's like it's a part of me, the same way my grizzly is. It's hard to explain."

Theo shrugged from the driver's seat of his truck. "I think you did a good job."

"Didn't ask your opinion."

Liam looked in his mirror and saw the blue car pull up. Lydia had let him use her car for the plan, but had warned that if anything happened he would get a burst eardrum. "He's here."

They all got out of Theo's truck and walked over. Vic had opted out of sitting in the passenger seat since she had died in that spot nearly two times. Besides, the back seat was comfy. Liam and Vic went to the driver's window to talk to Mason.

"Hey, how close is he?" Liam asked.

"He's back down the road," Mason answered. "Don't look. Should I come with you guys?"

Vic licked her lips. Theo walked over and stopped at the group. "His friends shoot to kill," he pointed out. "Go home."

"Fílos, you can't heal like we do," Vic added.

"Okay, yeah," Mason said. "Lydia would kill me if anything happened to her car anyways, so..."

"Don't worry about it," Liam said. "Nolan's gonna do the rest." He walked to the back to help unload the stuff from the trunk.

"Hey," Vic said. "You did great, okay. You know we couldn't have done this without you."

He smiled. "Thanks Vic. Just, be careful, okay?"

She smiled back. "You too." She went to help the boy with the stuff. She grabbed a sleeping bag and the bag of oranges.
