Warning: Mentions of trauma, awkwardness, not that much actually, kind of disappointing really

"Liam," Stiles said. Vic froze under the Jeep. They were trying to fix it up for the guys to go get Kira, it wasn't going too well. It involved a lot of duct tape.

"Stiles," Liam's voice said. Vic forced her heartbeat to slow down. She had no doubt he could hear her breathing, her heartbeat. But he didn't say anything. "Is, um, is Scott here?"

"Inside," her brother told him.

She heard more footsteps, then the closing of a door. It was only then that she let herself relax. She hadn't spoke to him yet. She had gotten her phone set up, got all the contacts set in. But no matter how much she wanted to, she couldn't make herself press that button to call him.

"You okay?" Stiles asked.

She took a breath and opened her eyes. "Yeah, just wasn't expecting that is all." She looked back at the tube in front of her. She started twisting the bolt to removed the broken tube, replace it with the one a few feet from her. "Stiles, I really think I should call my guy," Vic said.

The boy snorted as he pulled out a few wires. "I don't trust some random guy. Not with Roscoe."

"He's not random," Vic denied. "He has a shop. He has an ad on buses. I've seen you watch his commercial."

"Well I don't know him, so I don't trust him," Stiles denied.

"I trust him," Vic said. "You trust me, right?"

"Of course I do," he replied instantly. "I just don't trust this random guy."

Vic rolled her eyes. "Not random, we've been over this." She rolled herslef up to where Stiles could see her. "Stiles, I love this Jeep as much as you do. I want to drive it someday myself. Do you really think I would be suggesting this unless I was absolutely sure he could fix it?"

He paused in thought. "No. Okay, how about this, we go get Kira, we visit your guy at his," he used airquotes "'shop.' Then we'll see."

"Deal," Vic agreed. She rolled herself back on the roller to where she was between the wheels. She put the new tube in place and started tightening the bolt.

She heard the door open and Scott come out. Vic could see their feet if she looked up. "So what did Liam want?" Stiles asked.

"To help," Scott said.

"You gonna let him?" Stiles asked.

Scott was silent before he spoke. "Eventually, I guess."

"Okay, but shouldn't he be a little higher on your priority list right now?" Stiles asked. "I mean since he's the only other actual werewolf? Your only actual beta?"

"You didn't see the way he came at me," Scott denied. "You didn't see the look in his eyes." Vic shivered at the thought. That look on his face, she knew she wouldn't forget it. It was imprinted in her brain, along with Marcel's body, Cleo's desperate eyes, Kiley's empty chair.

"Well I've been with you on a full moon so I've seen that look," Stiles countered. "You want to get the band back together Scott? You don't leave out the drummer." She heard Scott sigh heavily.

"Where's Vic?" Scott asked.

"Down here," she answered. She looked over and saw Scott crouched down to look beneath the Jeep. She waved in greeting. "I'm also finished." She rolled herself out from under the Jeep. She came out by the trunk and set the roller aside.

"Okay, let's try it," Stiles said.

Vic hopped in the driver's seat. "Come on, Roscoe, come alive," she whispered, her hand on the keys. She turned it in the ignition. The engine sputtered and Vic felt her heart plummet. Then it roared to life.
