The walk to the animal clinic was a daze. She vaguely registered helping Liam, then Scott carry the Surgeon through the preserve. Argent and Gerard went with Parrish after the Beast. She snapped back to the present when she felt her eyes burn against the light of the animal clinic's steet lamp.

She opened the door to see Deaton and Stiles in the animal clinic, bent over something. They turned around when they heard her.

"It was Scott's idea," she said.

They looked confused before the two wolves came into view, the last Dread Doctor between them.

"He's still alive," Scott said.

Stiles moved whatever was on the table to the counter as the two supernaturals put the Surgeon onto the exam table. They laid still, so still it was hard to tell if they were still breathing. "Can you keep him alive?" Scott asked.

"I'm not sure he's technically alive," Deaton said, his hands hesitant on what to do.

"Screw keeping him alive," Liam said, angry over what happened not even an hour before. "How do we get him to talk?"

"Personally, I don't think we utilize torture nearly enough," Stiles agreed.

"I have a few different ideas," Vic said, pulling out her silver knife, twirling it around her fingers.

Liam's expression changed, like he was listening to something. "Do you hear that?"

What's going on? Vic thought.

She got no response. At first, she thought it was because she was at a ley line, like how Eichen House dulled the voices. But this was different. There was no interference, and the vibrations of the ley line were almost nothing. This, this was different. Something was different.

Before she could figure it out, the Surgeon bolted upright and an ear splitting screech rang through the room. Vic cried out, covered her ears. Her knife fell to the ground. She stumbled back, trying to get away from the noise. But it was impossible when it rang out in her head. She felt her back make contact with the counter.

She looked up to see Liam try and race after the escaping Dread Doctor. But the beta was thrown into the wall. With no more resistence, the Surgeon left. The sound faded, the blast of it disappearing. The metal in the room, the exam table, the scalpels, the needles, Vic's knife on the floor, all flew to the entryway. She felt something tug on the back of her neck, before her necklace broke off and joined the other pieces of metal as well.

Liam stood up, ready to chase after the Surgeon with Scott when Deaton stepped in front of them. "Stop, it's electrified," the druid warned.

Vic lowered her hands from her ears and watched as small bolts of electricity ran through the metal on the wall. "What's going on?" she asked Liam.

"Sebastion, he's outside," Liam said. His face was pale, but his eyes were a storm of anger in the blue. Vic put a hand on his shoulder, squeezed it in comfort.

"The cane!" Scott exclaimed, hearing the conversation outside.

"But they took it," Liam reminded. "They took the cane."

"Can someone fill in the holes for someone who doesn't have supernatural hearing?" Vic asked.

"Now you know how I feel," Stiles muttered.

"The pike that was used to kill the Beast," Scott said. "It's the cane the Surgeon has been using this entire time."

"Okay, where is it?" Stiles asked. "Is it where you guys found Mason?"
