Vic paced back and forth in Scott's room. She pushed her necklace from one side to another. This was only left for absolutely desperate situations. The wolf was downstairs, waiting for the person Stiles called. Stiles laid on Scott's bed while Melissa checked over him. She flinched when Stiles raised his wrist.

Vic nearly growled in frustration.

"Well medically you seem okay," Melissa said. "You're definitely a real person."

"Okay, so I'm real but am I really me?" Stiles asked. His voice was raspy like he hadn't used it in years. Or he had screamed it raw.

"Yes, yes a thousand time yes," Vic said as she kept pacing. "Stiles you're really you. I know it."

"Vic, I'd still like to know for sure," he said. "This is just for insurance."

She stopped pacing when she heard the door open downstairs. She closed her eyes, mentally preparing herself for this.

He's going to do it no matter what, the earth told her.

I know, Vic said.

He'll be fine, the wind reassured.

Or the Oni could sense a bit of the nogitsune still inside him and he could die, the earth added.

Vic swallowed.

Not helping, the wind hissed.

I'm being honest, the earth protested.

Well the honesty isn't helping, the wind said.

"You okay?" Melissa asked.

Vic blinked open her eyes, sucked into the voices in her head she didn't notice the looks she got from the two humans in the room.

"Yeah," she said. "Yeah, just, getting a bit annoyed of wind and earth arguing in my head."

Hey! they both shouted.

Well it's true, Vic told them.

The voices became quiet mutterings she could barely understand, like they were both sulking.

Scott walked into the room. Stiles sat up in the bed.

"Is she here?" he asked.

"Yeah," Scott nodded.

"Okay, let's do this," Stiles said. No one moved. Vic and Scott shared a look. She was pleading with the wolf to not do this. And while Scott knew his friend wanted this, needed the confirmation, he wasn't happy about it.

"Guys we have to do this," Stiles said.

"Den simaínei óti prépei na mas arései," Vic muttered in Greek. Doesn't mean we have to like it.

She helped Stiles stand up and caught him when he stumbled. Scott was on his other side. The three slowly made their way down the stairs, Stiles clinging to their shirts for stability. They turned into the living room to see Noshiko Yukimura, Kira's mother and master of the Oni, beside one of the armchairs. The woman was dressed in all black which somehow made her more formidable. Vic wanted to grab her brother, shove him in Roscoe and get him away from here.

All the gauze from earlier had been cleaned up and put into garbage bags, leaving the room clear.

"Do you recognize me?" the kitsune asked.

Stiles nodded. He let go of Scott and Vic. He motioned to them he was okay and stepped into the room.

Before anything could happen, Kira ran in through the back door. "Stop!" she exclaimed. Noshiko held her daughter's arm to stop her from going any further.
