"Please, please tell me that you brought the key card," Theo said from inside the cell.

"I also brought my gun," the sheriff said.

"And your sense of humour," Theo added. "That is great. But if we're th only ones left in Beacon Hills then we need each other. Which means you need me out of this cell."

"We need to trust you," Liam countered.

"Then you need to get realistic," Theo told him. "Because trust is not important right now. It is us against them and you want a lot more of us considering how many of them there are."

"I hate to say he's right," Liam whispered to Noah. "But... he's kind of right."

The man contemplated this for a moment before he spoke, "If I let you out, and I see any behaviour that I find remotely suspicious, I'll put so many bullets in your head, God won't even recognise you."

Theo leaned forward, a small smirk on his lips. "I'm an atheist. Fire at will."

The sheriff reached into his pocket and pulled out the key card. He tapped it with his thumb a couple times, staring at the little piece of plastic. The piece of plastic that would let Theo Raeken free. The person that almost killed his little girl. The one that lied so much that he tore an entire pack apart.

He brought it over to the card reader, then paused. He pulled it back.

"You're gonna need to be a bit closer then that, Sheriff," Theo said. "Wave it over the card reader. Come on, right here." He reached through the bars and tapped the device. "Up and down, you can do it."

"Sheriff, we need him," Liam said quietly.

Theo reached through the bars to try and grab it. The sheriff pulled it back before the chimera could touch it. Theo brought his hand back to his side as Noah tapped the card.

"Tell me something," he said.

"What?" Theo asked. "Tell you what? What are you talking about?"

"Tell me about my kids," Noah clarified. Theo scoffed. "Tell me one thing you that remember about them. Just one."

"You swipe that key card I'll tell you anything you want," Theo bargined.

"Sheriff they're coming," Liam warned. The lights flickered and thundered rumbled over their heads.

"One thing," he repeated. "Just one thing!"

Theo grabbed the bars of the cell, shook them. They were iron. They were harder to break then other metals. Plus, there was mountain ash in the bars, a precaution Vic had convinced her dad to install when they renovated the sheriff station. He looked into the eyes of the chimera. He wasn't gonna say anything.

Noah turned away, ready to go fight the Ghost Riders, the Wild Hunt, the ones that had taken his children, without Theo. He was fine with that.

Theo shook the bars and yelled, "They were smart!"

The man turned back to the cell.

Theo lowered his eyes, but continued. "She trusted her gut but she trusted her brother more. And he was smart enough not to trust me."

Noah stepped back over to the cell. He waved the card above the reader, setting the chimera free.
