Her feet pounded against the concrete tunnels. Her sword hit her hip continuously as she ran. She turned without thinking, instantly knowing which way to go, despite not having been here before. She could feel everything that happened down there. The pain, misery and torture stained the walls.

She turned another corner and saw them. Lydia, crying and sobbing. Stiles was passed out, propped up against the wall.

"Lydia," Vic called. She ran over and kneeled down in front of her. "Lyds, Lyds, hey, we need to get out of here."

"I-I can't," she cried. "I can't. Allison."

"I know," Vic told her. "I know you loved her. I don't think I'll ever understand how much but I do know you did. But, Lyds, I need your help. I can't carry him on my own."

That was a full faced lie. She could probably carry Stiles on her shoulders and Lydia in her arms.

Lydia nodded, tears and makeup running down her cheeks. She didn't try to wipe the tears away. Lydia hooked one of Stiles's arms around her shoulders. Vic did the same with the other. Vic led them out of the tunnels, knowing where to go.

"What happens now?" Lydia asked.

"Argent's taking you, Isaac and Scott to the sheriff's station," Vic explained. "Noshiko said I can bring Stiles to her place. We're gonna hang out there for now. I'm gonna see if there's anything I can find that might help."

Lydia nodded. That was all she could do. She forced herself to focus on the tunnels, the turns Vic led them down, anything to get them away from that place.

"How are you gonna get there?" she asked.

"Back in Wisconsin, we stayed with a farmer that had an old pickup," Vic told her. "Trevor taught me how to drive it in the back fields. I'll take the Jeep back into town."

Lydia nodded. They exited the tunnels and joined the group at the gates. Everyone looked numb. They had moved the body. When Kira saw them, she walked over. She took Lydia's position under Stiles's arm. They shared a look, something Vic couldn't decipher and didn't try to. Lydia joined the group at the gates.

"Help me get him into the Jeep," Vic instructed. Kira nodded. The two turned their backs on Oak Creek. Scott gave them a look as they passed. She nodded.

The two made it to the Jeep. Noshiko stood beside her own vehicle. The two put Stiles on the passenger seat. Vic checked his pockets and found the keys in his jacket pocket.

"You want me to drive?" Kira asked.

Vic shook her head. "You've got your own car. I've got this."

"You know how to drive?" Kira asked astonished.

"Enough to get us home," Vic admitted.

The two didn't say anything more. Kira went to her car. Noshiko climbed in hers. Vic climbed in the Jeep. She did her brother's seatbelt then her own. She started the engine and pulled away from Oak Creek.

She closed the beastiary and put it on the coffee table next to her sword. Nope, it still said the same thing it did a few days ago. Was it only Friday her and her dad went to LA? It was now late Wednesday morning, so, maybe? Wow. It felt like weeks ago.
