Warning: injuries, blood, "death," kidnapping, threats, temporary deafness

The ball landed right in Stiles's net. The boy grew a giant grip on his face. A second later he was tackled from the side into the ground. The crowd groaned from the sight of the impact. Vic bit her lip in the anxiety as she saw him spit out the grass that had gotten in his mouth.

"It's early in the game I'm sure he just needs to warm up," Melissa excused.

Vic nodded absentmindedly, not really paying attention to her words.

The next play led to the ball land right in front of his feet. He tried to scoop it up with his net, but the ball almost refused to get in the cradle. A second later three opposing forwards crashed into him, knocking him on his back. The crunch that came from the group sends a wince from the crowd.

"He's just a little nervous, plenty of time to turn it around," Lydia reasoned.

Another play, but this time the ball bounced off Stiles's helmet and into the opposing forward's net. Which then led to a goal.

Vic looked over to her dad who had his head in his hands. She reached out and patted his knee in comfort.

Trying to get her mind off the trainwreck of the game, Vic turned to the girl next to her. "Lydia, right?" she asked.

The strawberry blonde nodded. "Vic?" she asked.

Vic nodded, confirming her suspicions. "Have you found someone who cares yet?" she asked.

Lydia thought for a second before she answered. "I have a possibility."

"Everyone should have someone who cares about them," Vic said.

"Do you?"

"Yeah," she said. Her mind flashed back to the other night where she rambled on and on about Greek and Japanese mythology. Stiles had just sat there and listened. "Yeah, I do."

Lydia's eyes scanned the stolen flannel she had on under her leather jacket, the sweatpants that hung on her hips. "Well maybe add another person to that list, because there is no way I am letting you walk around Beacon Hills looking like you stole these clothes from your brother."

Vic didn't say anything, just pursed her lips.

"Oh my god," Lydia muttered. "Okay, you know what? Shopping trip. This weekend, you and me. I'm getting you some new clothes."

"How many clothes?" Vic asked warily. She didn't like shopping. Didn't like feeling like some Barbie some pretty girl could just change with the flick of her wrist. The malls were worse. It was giant, inside, and very easy to get lost in. Just no. But stick her in the middle of a farmer's market and she knew the place like the back of her hand.

"How many do you need?" Lydia questioned.

"Well considering my whole wardrobe consists of four or five flannels, two pairs of sweatpants and a t-shirt, I'd say everything," Vic informed.

Lydia hummed before she turned back to the field. "I do like a challenge."

Vic leaned closer to Melissa and whispered, "Should I be scared?"

The woman pursed her lips before she answered, "Maybe."

Vic nodded and turned her attention back to the game. The second she looked over, seven players crashed together. Three of them Beacon Hills, the rest from the opposing team. They were all able to scramble up, except for a Beacon Hills player that lied on the ground. The number fourteen on his jersey was visible from the stands. Vic watched as Scott's number eleven ran over to the player on the ground. The two exchanged a few words before the medics came and lifted Number Fourteen away on a stretcher.
