Warning: injuries, angst, bonding, poisoning, near drowning

She just needed to get out of the house. Everything had crashed down at her. She felt like she was suffocating. So she went for a run, brought her phone (set that on vibrate) and left a note so her family would know where she was.

It was had to be that day. She didn't know the exact date, but she felt it in her bones. It's today, it's today that you lost him.

She pushed herself harder. She still couldn't hear anything. Everything was just that quiet nothingness. So when she rounded the corner and saw Liam in the middle of the path, looking confused, she was slightly startled.

"Liam?" she asked. He turned and looked at her shocked. "What are you doing here?"

I'm on a run... Mason.... didn't even know I was that far ahead, he said. She read his lips as he spoke. ...You doing here?

"I needed to get out of the house," she told him.

Isn't that... dangerous... deadpool? he asked.

She smiled at his concern. She pulled out her bone knife and showed it to him. "Rule Nine: never go anywhere without a knife. I take that one very seriously."

He nodded and said something that she couldn't make out.

There's someone driving down the trail, the wind warned. Vic turned around and saw the black SUV. She grabbed Liam and pulled him off the trail. The SUV stopped beside them. It opened the passenger door, which made Vic stumble down the hill. Liam tried to catch her, but lost his balance and went down with her. They fell together. Vic grabbed hold of a rock and caught herself before she could go down further. She reached out and caught Liam.

Vic stood up and saw Garrett at the top of the hill. He had his lacrosse stick in hand. But at the end of it, a two edged knife came out.

Hey... missed movie night...got something else planned, he said.

Vic growled at him, stood in front of Liam protectively. She smelt wolfsbane on the end of his blade. The same smell came from Brett last night. She pulled out her bone knife.

Garrett switched which hand he used for the blade. You wanna fight? You sure that's a... your hearing? he taunted.

"I don't need to hear you to kick your ass," she told him, a growl in her voice.

He smirked and walked down the hill. He lunged at her. She side stepped and slashed at him. He hissed when the bone met his skin, made a mark that bled. He swung his stick around. Vic ducked and slashed his stomash. He groaned again and swung his stick around once more. Vic stpped back but got a scent of the metal under the wofsbane.

Stainless steel.

Garrett took her moment of shock as an advantage and stabbed her.

She felt the blade go, the wolfsbane work into her system. It prodded at her ribs.

Garrett pulled the blade out. It was red. A piece of it was broken off. More likely stuck in her ribs.

Liam pounced at him. Garrett stabbed him quickly. Then hit the beta on the head with the other end of the stick. He was out.

Vic growled in anger which turned into a groan of pain. Garrett smirked in victory. You're not.... just a cub. Then he hit her backwards with his stick. Her head hit the rock behind her. The double combo knocked her out.
