Y/n's POV

I yawned as I sat up.

Rubbing one of my eyes with my palm, I scanned the area with my open eye.

"Where's Zuko and Aang?" I asked sleepily.

"They left already." Toph shrugged.

"Oh, hey Y/n." Sokka said, polishing his boomerang. "Sleep well?"

"Yeah." I said, nodding my head.

I looked over at Toph, then walked over to her.

"Are your feet better?" I asked, crouching down next to her.

"For the most part." She shrugged.

"Then-" I began.

"Just stomp your feet." She said.

I paused.

"You were going to ask me to teach you to see with your feet, weren't you?" She asked confidently. "Stomp your foot."

I gently stomped my foot, but nothing happened.

"Um-" I began.

"Remember what you told me in that metal box?" She asked me.

"No?" I said, confused.

"You told me that metal was purified earth. That means metal is obviously connected to earth." She said. "Everything is connected. You need to think of your bending as an extension of yourself, and use your extensions to view the world arould you."

"You know, you're really wise for a kid." I said.

"I know." She smirked. "Now go practice, and don't come back until you've mastered it."

"Mastered it? But-"

"Shoo shoo, go on." She said.

I obediently turned around.
I walked into the back to find my old prison clothes. After finding them, I crouched down and ripped off a strip of the fabric.

I can use this as a blindfold. I decided, standing up.

I then left to find a secluded area to practice.

I settled on a spot above the temple, in the forest.

I stood with my legs slightly apart, blindfold on, breathing deeply.

Focus...

I listened to the birds chirping around me.

I stomped my foot.

Nothing.

Come on, if a little girl can do it, so can you.

~~~~~~~~~~
Hours passed. It was now dark out.
My stomach growled.
Eyes closed, I stomped my foot.
There's...a bird in the tree a few feet away from me. I thought, opening my eyes and removing the blindfold.
I looked at the tree and vaguely saw a bird sleeping in it's nest.
I closed my eyes again, holding the blindfold in hand, sliding my foot across the ground.
There's two squirrels sleeping in that tree. And an ant hill hidden under the rock to my right.
I opened my eyes, grinning.
Shoving the blindfold in my pocket, I made a small fire in my hand for warmth and began walking back towards the camp.
With each step I took, I could see more than before.
Wait! That's-!
"Where's Y/n?" I heard a faint familiar voice ask.
I began sprinting towards the camp, earthbending a sloppy set of stairs for me to run down.
"You guys are back!" I shouted excitedly as I reached the bottom of the stairs.
"There you are!" Aang shouted excitedly. "We learned firebending from the original masters!"
"You mean you were almost eaten by dragons?" I asked, shocked.
"That sums it up." Zuko said, then smiled at me.
"So, it's back?" I asked him.
He nodded his head, then made a small flame in his hand to demonstrate.
Aang made a stream of fire away from everyone to demonstrate.
"You're not the only one who learned something new today." I grinned.
I pulled the blindfold out my pocket and tied it around my eyes.
"Y/n, what are you doing?" Zuko asked.
I took a few steps back, then spread my legs slightly apart.
"Somebody do something without any noise." I said.
I then lightly swept my foot along the ground.
"Sokka...is sharpening his boomerang." I said, pointing towards him. "Toph is... ah!" I shouted, ducking as a rock hurled over my head.
I took the blindfold off.
"Toph, what the heck?!" I said. "That would've hurt!"
"Congradulations, Dewdrop. You can officially see with your feet." She said, smirking.
"Dewdrop?" I asked, confused.
"Hey, better than Twinkletoes." Sokka shrugged.
"Hey!" Aang shouted, offended.
I started giggling.
"I think I'm in the mood for some tea." I said, looking at Zuko.
