I'm waiting in the waiting room at my doctor's office. I'm a little nervous. I still feel awful. Luckily, Jasper is sitting next to me. He offered to take me so Anna could go to work. "Janetta Swan?" The nurse calls me. We stand up and follow her into a room. "Take a seat, honey." She opens the folder that holds my chart in it. "I see you've come in for a nasty cold." She looks up at me to confirm.

"Yes. The symptoms haven't let up. I've been like this since I returned from my spring break vacation."

"Where did you go?" She asks, writing notes.

"Rio." She looks at me for a moment and then goes back to writing her notes.

"Okay. Do you know if you were exposed to anyone with an illness or health condition?"

"Not that I'm aware of." She asks more questions and writes more notes. She does her routine of taking my vitals, including my temperature of 100.8. Great.

"Okay, I will share my notes with the doctor, and she should be in to see you in a bit."

"Okay, thank you," I say, as well as Jasper. We sat in silence. I could feel we were both very anxious and nervous. After what felt like an eternity (in actuality, it was 15 minutes), Dr. Hawk came in.

"Hello, Netta." She smiles warmly at me. She directs her attention to Jasper. "And who is this?"

"This is my boyfriend, Jasper."

"Pleasure to meet you," Jasper says, reaching his hand out to shake hers. She shakes his hand.

"Okay, I looked over your chart and the nurse's notes. We are going to run some tests. We will get a blood and urine sample." When she said blood, Jasper's mood instantly shifted. I know he would never do anything, but as he described it, the hunger for blood is very intense. "I'm going to do a routine physical examination on you. Do you want your boyfriend in here while I perform the exam?" I look at Jasper.

"It's up to you, sweetheart. I'm fine either way." He reassures me.

"I want him here," I say weakly. The entire time we were waiting, up until this very moment, I've been fine. Instantly a wave of nausea hit me. "I'm going to be sick." I gagged. Jasper was immediately at my side, holding my hair. My doctor grabbed the trashcan and handed it to Jasper. I threw up for what seemed like forever. There goes my breakfast.

Once I finally stop, I sit up, looking at them. "I'm so sorry," I say, a few tears falling down my face. It is so embarrassing, throwing up in front of people. I just wish this would go away.

"Janetta, never apologize for that. You are sick. Sometimes you can't help it." My doctor says. She's the best doctor I've ever had, aside from Dr. Cullen.

"Thanks," I say, slightly shaking. Throwing up actually made me feel the slightest better.

"Is it okay if I do the exam on you now?"

"Yeah. I feel a little better now."

She steps out of the room and had me strip down to my bra and underwear. Jasper helped me. If I weren't sick, I'd find it funny how I happened to be wearing a matching set. After I lay down on the exam table under the thin paper blanket, she comes back in and prepares everything for the exam. Jasper is standing by my head, holding my hand the entire time. She goes through the exam, listening to different parts of my body and checking my ears, eyes, nose, etc.

"Okay, Netta, I'm done. I will have one of our nurses come in and get blood from you. Get dressed, and she should be in here shortly."

"Okay, thank you," I say. She walks out, and I get up and quickly get dressed. I turn and look up at Jasper.
