Twenty one kids standing out on the field as their teacher lectured them was a funny sight to see.

Your first day had already turned into a test as you missed orientation, doing a quirk assessment instead.

"Bakugo, you placed first in the exam," Aizawa nodded, throwing a softball in his direction. "What was your high score in middle school?"

"79 meters," he stated, confused as he caught the ball.

"Do anything, just don't step out of the circle," Aizawa instructed, stepping back to allow the boy some space.

"Awesome," he grinned, reeling his arm back for a throw. "Die!"

The ball whizzed off with a loud explosion as some students covered their ears, while others admired the power.

"What'd the ball ever do to him?" You scoffed, though the only one that heard you was Todoroki, who snorted at your comment.

You were standing in seat order, so unfortunately, you and Iida were on opposite sides of the field.

"705.2 meters," Aizawa read out, showing everyone the device tracking the ball.

With that, a majority of your class burst into cheers at the idea of freely using their quirks for the first time in their lives.

Even Todoroki, who was standing next to you almost cracked a smile at that, though you grasped his arm and shook your head, silently signalling that there was more beneath the surface.

"Oh, you think it's fun?" Aizawa smirked, eyes glinting with mischief. "Well then lets add a challenge."

The air immediately grew tense at that, as the anxiety became evident on your classmate's faces.

"Whoever comes last," he began. "Will be expelled."

You grit your teeth in annoyance and determination, trying to figure him out.

Aizawa Shota was someone you'd known since you were a child, however you weren't too close with him. Most of the staff at U.A came over to talk business or to train you, in which you'd also spend time with them for a while.

You knew all of them like the back of your hand and could read all their expressions. However this man, who looked like he was homeless, was someone you could never figure out.

Giving up, you focused your energy on the assessment, to which multiple students were protesting.

"The world isn't fair," Aizawa scoffed. "It's not sunshine and rainbows, you won't have a lot to smile about. You need the harsh reality, so I'm giving it to you now. Anyone who disagrees can walk out now."

Everyone stood silently as they processed their choices. They were well aware that they had the chance to pass or scrape through, so walking out was a less sensible option than giving it their best shot.

"Alright, let's do this," you sighed, stretching your arms as you walked over to the first testing station.

Test 1: 50 meter dash

The test was simple and straightforward, with rules much like those in middle school.

This time however, you were allowed to use your quirks.
