Although Pete wanted Tin to rest, he knew that once this man made up his mind, he would push through it.

"He's next to this room," Pete pointed.

"Thank you," Tin said. "Thank you for helping us."

Pete nodded, but he insisted, "Save it for later."

Tin got out of bed, but he had some struggle. Pete and Ae wanted to help him out, but Tin refused. It was just like him: very stubborn and refused to rely more on others.

They got out of his private room slowly since Tin had to take breaks in between. His spiritual injuries and internal injuries were still serious that every movement felt like he was being cut by knives. Through it all, Pete and Ae never heard him complain or grunt. They have heard about how awful and painful it was when a person's spiritual roots are damaged. No amount of any kind of medicine could help with the pain from such damage. The fewer movements and the sooner the person heals from this kind of injury, the less painful it would be.

Soon, they reached the specialized room dedicated for Can. As Tin entered the room, he felt a mixture of emotions. He felt angry seeing different instruments and tubes stuck to Can's body while these doctors were observing him. He felt like Can was being considered some kind of attraction to fill their curiosities. What infuriated him the most was that there was a nurse wiping Can's face with a washcloth. Even if that was the case, he did not blurt out his dissatisfaction or used his magic to make these people disappear from his sight. He understood why they were there or why things were attached to him. He just could not help it. He was not used to it.

As for Can, seeing him lying unconsciously crushed Tin's heart. It was much more horrible and painful than the injuries he received.

When Pete sensed that Tin felt uncomfortable seeing other people, he gestured his medical staff to leave for the meantime.

The medical staff did not need their team leader to tell them to leave, they would leave anyway as soon as they saw Tin was in a bad mood.

They did not say anything at all aside from a respectful bow towards Tin before they left.

As soon as they left, Tin felt less suffocated. He took a moment to compose himself before he proceeded to walk towards Can's bed. Withstanding the pain while moving and breathing, he reached the unconscious man and held his hand.

"We'll be right outside if you need anything," Pete said as he took Ae's hand and dragged him outside immediately. He did not want to invade the privacy of the two.

When the door to the room was closed and only the sound of the constant beeping noise from the pieces of equipment attached to Can could be heard, Tin let out a bitter smile.

"I'm here now, Can," he whispered gently as he lightly kissed his forehead.

He then carefully caressed his cheeks with his thumb as if he was some kind of delicate flower. "You'll be fine."

He then reached out to Can's belly. " They'll be fine too. Don't worry. I promise."

At that point, Tin let out his suppressed tears. With his lips quivering from the pain of seeing Can in such a state and his hand turning into a fist from his frustration, he made an oath that he would make sure that Can and his children would be fine no matter what it takes to do so.

Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath and attempted to calm himself down. A few moments later, he tended Can. He grabbed the washcloth that was used earlier by the nurse and wiped down the sweat that was on Can's face gently. Afterward, with the small washbasin that has lukewarm water by the table, he started wiping Can from head to toe with another washcloth. He did this without complaints as his every movement caused tremendous pain to him. He was gentle and caring with his task with a weak smile on his face.
