Beleaguering Hearts

"Boss Freya! Kwento mo sa simula ha, kung paano kayo naging close ni Boss Sean." Pagdemand ni RATlen kaya napairap ako.

"Whatever! Well, ganito kasi yan..."

During elementary school, palagi kong kasama sina Alice (the ex of Sean from Romans) and Lyka (the nerd in Corinthians.) Lagi kami magkakasama sa school pati na rin sa labas ng school. We three are in ballet classes, piano lessons, Kumon, and many other extracurricular activities. Why? Because our moms are competitive, nadamay lang kami.

Alam niyo yung tipong nasa waiting area ng Kumon center ang mga nanay, and they're flexing their kids' achievements to everyone? Ganon. Well, my mom is sophisticated so she don't do that, but she's lowkey competitive so she enrolled me to a lot of things. That's why every Summer is another burn out for me. Yung tipong 10 months ka na nga sa school tapos yung 2 months na pahinga mo, kakainin pa ng mga extracurricular lessons mo? Yup, I hated it.

Anyways, the point is, naging magkakaibigan kami nila Lyka at Alice dahil na rin lagi kaming magkakaklase sa EA at sa labas ng EA. For me, I treated them as friends, pero sila sa akin? I don't know.

"Eh bakit hindi mo alam boss Frei?" Napairap ako at napalingon sa rat na katabi ko. Don't worry he's 3 meters away from me.

"Duh? Kasi kung kaibigan nila ako, edi sana hindi nila ako binagsak noon."

"Hala? Ano sila teacher? Nambabagsak?" Natatawang kumento nitong Ratlen na toh--- oops Rylen pala, my bad.

"Can you just shut up and listen?" Iritadong reklamo ko kaya naman umakto ito na ni-zipper ang kanyang bunganga habang tumatango-tango. I rolled my eyes then I continued my story.

Ako ang pinakamayaman sa aming tatlo. So I always gave them a lot of things, foods, and everything else. Both my parents have businesses, and we're old money rich. Like rich RICH. Maybe it's one of the reasons why Alice and Lyka turned their backs at me. They're jealous I guess?

"Palibre naman boss Freya!" Kumento na naman ni Rylen kaya sinamaan ko siya ng tingin at nabura ang malawak niyang ngiti.

Anyways, after our entrance exam in Empyrean Academy junior high for 7th grade... the results were... Alice is in the 1st section, Lyka is in the 2nd, and I'm at the 3rd. Because of that, I was seen as a loser by our parents, teachers, and co-students in our extracurricular activities.

Wala naman akong pake kasi di naman yon yung batayan ko ng success. Hindi ko na tinuloy ang mga outside-the-school lessons ko at pumayag naman si mommy, kasi nakita niyang sayang daw ang investment niya sa akin. Psh! I hated school even more because of the pressure that my mom put in my shoulders. 

Dahil sa pag-quit ko, hindi na nabalik sa dati yung samahan naming tatlo. Hindi ko na kasi sila kaklase sa school, tapos hindi ko pa sila nakakasama sa labas ng school. 

"I hate my section so much, ang iingay nila and the girls think they're pretty? Nakakainis! Napaka-user friendly nila, palibre sila nang palibre." Napapairap kong reklamo kila Lyka at Alice nang tumabi ako sa kanilang table sa canteen. It was just my 1st day in 7th grade in the 3rd section and I wanted to quit school already! 

"You'll get used to it Freya." Sabi ni Alice, nakayuko at tahimik lang si Lyka kaya napataas ang kilay ko. 

"Why are you both so quite today?" Tanong ko kaya medyo gulat na tumingin sa akin si Lyka. Something's fishy. "Anyway, it's fine. I'll treat you with some dessert, what d'you two want?"
