Chapter Nineteen - I
Beleaguering Hearts

|Freya, the brat|

I am at my weekly school detox self every Saturdays and Sundays. What does it mean? Duh! It means "NO SCHOOL STUFFS ON WEEKENDS." How about my homeworks? Oh, I sometimes paid people to do that for me. How about group projects? Well I will only come to our meetings if Sean will be there, and if he's one of my group mates. At dahil hindi kami magkaklase ni Sean for the past years, binabayaran ko lang mga kagroup ko noon at sila na ang gagawa. No one can disturb me about school matters during the weekend, but if its Sean, or if I really want to, then I will let myself be disturbed.

Today I'm laying down on a pool chair, tanning, with sliced cucumbers on my eyes, and a smoothie on the table beside me. Whenever I do this, my mind love to travel back in time where I was the finest btch I could ever be.

My memory lane of being pretty and savage traveled back during our first day of school this year.

"I'm Freya Hyacinth Cortez, 15, and there's no other me." I smirked after I introduced myself. I crossed my legs as I sat down and they all seem to admire my poise.

I like to let people know that they can't duplicate a Freya Hyacinth Cortez. They can't copy me.

So that day, my all out savagery, to people who loves to copy me, was on point.

"Kelly, honey, that new bag that you bought was fake."

"Oh, Cloe, we have the same lipgloss! But it looks prettier on me."

"Rachel, you're not even a Beleaguer, so stop social climbing already or else I'll cut your stairs."

The flasbacks during my first day of Grade 10 suddenly got interrupted by my ringing phone. The music from my bluetooth speaker stopped playing so I got pissed. But I inhaled and exhaled deeply to keep this peaceful Saturday morning momentum going. My hand travelled on the table beside me and as soon as I grabbed my phone, I automatically found the answer button on my latest iPhone.

"Speak." I bluntly told the intruder.

[Hi Freya, I know it's Saturday...] Hindi ko na pinakinggan ang susunod na sasabihin nito dahil tinanggal ko ang mga cucumbers sa mga mata ko para makumpirma ang name ng caller.

Oh it's really the newbie. I rolled my eyes and put my phone back on my ear to hear her useless bickers. Is it time for our monthly outreach program already? Sean and I are one of the birthday celebrants this month, but it's too early for the outreach program. We still have a week left at school before our mini sembreak though. So why the heck is this Chelsea girl disturbing me??

By the way, I'm such an angel coz you know, I'm attending charities and outreach programs now. Hehe, I'm such an it girl on this crappy generation. I'm rich and generous to poor people.

"What is it again? Is this about the outreach program?" Tanong ko dahil hindi ko naman talaga siya pinapakinggan kahit na naririnig ko mga sinasabi niya. Coz ya know, I'm too busy thinking about how kind I am.

Oh! What if I donate money to the poor for this month's outreach program? Para hindi ko na kailangan pa ng appearance and I will just enjoy my school detox? Yeah right! I'm such a smart, pretty, and rich young lady! Omg!

[No, we'll be having meetings about that on Monday.]

"Oh, okay, so what are you tryin to say then?" Even though I dislike this newbie girl so much, I tried to sound sweet, because I am a nice lady.
