As soon as the fated villainess regains consciousness, she felt how stiff and uncomfortable her position was.

She tried yanking her arms but was restricted by something else familiar.

It wasn't the vines, the sensation was too familiar.

She immediately opens her eyes and glanced at her arms.

'Ah, chains...'

'The same thing used to restrict patients.'

She raises her head to observe the area and saw that she wasn't in the typical dungeon every villainess go. Her hands were spread and tied apart with anti-magic chains. Behind her was a large cross.

'I'm in a cathedral huh...'

'So I got caught that easy, how pathetic...'

She released a giggle, not an innocent one.

'Seems like that's how fate wanted things to go.'

'If it wasn't for the dragon I wouldn't be here.'

'That spirit wasted my time and made me lower my guard.'

"Damn it."

She keeps cursing herself but soon asks why she was blaming herself.

'Death isn't that's scary,' she reassured. 'I'm pretty sure I fear failure more than that stuff.'

The door creak as she lifts her head and glanced at the person who entered.

White hair that indicates wisdom and intense red eyes were the features that cause her to be curious. Wrinkled skin and a gentle smile met her and she can't stop staring.

'This must be how Knile will look like when she'll grow old.'

'Too bad she won't!'

"Greetings," the old witch said. "I'm glad you were successful in confronting the beast hidden in you."

'Eh?'

"You've managed to escape from it. I wonder how you will also escape your witch trial." The old woman emphasized the last word which made Knile laugh.

She was the one who popularized the trials and now she's receiving one. How funny is that?

"I never expected you to be caught that easily. I thought you had a plan to prevent it."

"You mean my death or failure?"

The old woman raised her eyebrows.

"Isn't it the same?"

"Ah no. Failure is much scarier than death itself."

"Strange belief but ok." Unlike her usual self, she immediately agreed. "Are you ok with these? How are you feeling?" The gentle and caring attitude of hers was fleeing.

Knile look confused at her.

'What does she want?'

"Pardon but who are you to ask those questions?" Knile ask.

"Oh~ I'm a no one." She answered. "I'm just checking on you."

'I can sense an amount of mana encircling her.'

"Are you the one who pulled me from the abyss?"

'With that mana, it's not impossible.'

"Yes! I'm so happy you instantly guessed it. I've also sealed the dragon inside you. He was bothering you so much!" She then proceeded to grab a strand of her hair and twirl it around her fingers. The villainess felt unpleasant at her actions.
