The Owlery

Only when the night had approached fully, and all the other Slytherins took it upon themselves to turn away and head to bed, did it finally become your time to shine as you escaped the dorm and headed into the common room, slowly ensuring no one else was in the common room. Only when this was secure, you took out a piece of paper, a quill, and took a seat at the back table in which you used to sit with Blaise and Draco. And so, you began:

Dear Sirius,

I have spoken with Harry, and we have agreed to come and see you this weekend. We have some friends who we'll bring too. I am very excited to see you all again and see my textbooks. You're exceptional!

However, as for your final comment, I believe it's my duty to let you know that, unfortunately, Cedric and I have broken up. Don't panic - it was a mutual agreement. We were seeing each other less, and had little time for each other, and so concluded it'd be best to be apart. We ended on good terms, so do not worry. I am doing well too. I've a good friend to comfort me in times of need - they're also in Slytherin so it's easier to have them around. Yeah, I know what you're probably thinking: a Slytherin?! Yes, well, they're not so bad, I suppose, though I despise the majority of them. Also, would greatly appreciate it if you could make lasagne for when we arrive. Cheers.

[F/n] Potter <3

Satisfied with the written letter, you folded it and sought an envelope. And, as you were signing the letter, the common room door opened and inside wandered another insomniac who you spent too many nights with for your own good.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Draco called out immediately to you as he caught sight of you in the common room. Slowly, he approached you at the table until he was right beside you, looking down at you.

"Tell you what?" You asked, also standing at the table, putting the letter down onto the table and then facing him completely.

"You have dreams about him? You're connected mentally?"

"Oh, don't worry, he can't actually see you. I just wanted your dumb girlfriend to fuck off. Voldemort isn't yet aware of the fact that we're mentally connected."

"And if he does find out?"

"Well, then ... you heard Harry."

"Death or possession?"

You nodded.

"But, as I said, don't worry, he won't see you," you said with a faint, yet somewhat sombre, smile, turning away from him and back to the letter.

"What? No. I don't care if he sees me," Draco said in a low voice, "I'm worried about you, you stupid fuck."

For a moment, your heart stopped. To hear Draco be worried of you was a feeling that one could not compare, due to the rarity and atypicality of it, but you knew you enjoyed the sound and feeling of it.

"And what's this business with meeting Sirius Black? Why are you meeting him when he's a criminal?"

"He's my Godfather, actually," you cleared your throat. "And he's not a criminal. He's one of the best and kindest people to exist. He's helping us fight Voldemort."

"Us?"

"Me ... and some other people."

"It seems like you're living two lives," Draco pursed his lips, "and I can't tell which one is the secret one."

"Both of them. The side you're involved in is a secret, and so is the other one."

"Is there anything I can do to help?" He asked, going to lift his hand to brush your hair behind your ear, but quickly recollected himself and pulled his arm back, recognising the intimacy behind the act.

You inhaled. "There is."

"What is it?"

"Support me. Us."

Draco looked at you softly, and a small smile arose on his lips.

"You'd be much cooler if you weren't Potter's sister. Or their friend."

"You don't like my friends, do you?" You said with a smile, taking the letter and leaving the common room. Draco followed you and walked with you through Hogwarts.

"Not at all. But you don't like mine either."

"I don't understand how you can be friends with them."

"I don't understand how you can be friends with people like Granger or the Weasleys."

"They're kind, supportive, loving, trustworthy people who will never hesitate to help someone else out. What have your friends got? Money."

"That's true," Draco laughed quietly, "we all come from wealthy families, you're right. Maybe money does play a part in our friendship then."

"Exactly. It's shallow."

"Don't go as far as calling it shallow."

"Am I wrong?"

"Yes. I actually like hanging out with them."

"So you're as much of a twat as them."

"They're not that bad."

"Yes, they are. By hanging out with them, it just shows you're the same. There's a reason I don't like you."

"You don't like me but you sure do like me inside of you," Draco cleared his throat with a sneer. You rolled your eyes and sped up your walk. He, noticing this, also sped up his walk through the hallway. "Where are we going?"

"I have to send this letter to Sirius."

"How come I can't stand male Potter, but I can stand you?"

"Because you have no choice," you said.

"You're also hot."

"Ok, didn't ask."

"Do you want me to hit you?"

"Yes."

Draco shook his head with a smile. "What is your owl called?"

"Albus."

"We've slept three times yet I know nothing about you," Draco said.

"Good."

"Open up, will you?"

"No." You paused. "What's your owl called?"

"Niklaus," he said, smiling proudly at the name he picked for his Eagle Owl.

"I've seen your owl. He's pretty."

"Your owl is white."

"A snowy owl. Same as Harry's."

"Didn't Potter pick a weird name for his owl?"

"Hedwig. Not weird at all. I love Hedwig. Albus and Hedwig get along very well."

"Why did you pick Albus?"

"Because he's white and white in Latin is Albus."

At your explanation, Draco could not stop himself from looking down at you with a smile. You, also, smiled proudly at your reasoning behind the name, and you walked on proudly. When you finally reached the Owlery, Albus, the great white owl, flew out of his place and immediately to you before landing on your shoulder proudly.

"Hello," Draco said, lifting up his finger to pet Albus. Albus proved prepared to pick at Draco's finger, but decided against it and gently lowered his head to give Draco easier access of petting.

"He doesn't let anyone do that," you said.

"I have that effect on both you and your owl, wow."

You playfully hit him, and he laughed, still petting Albus.

"Hey Albus," you said, lifting the letter up to his beak, which he took. "Sirius Black. When you're back, I'll give you a treat," you said with a smile. Albus stared at you with loving eyes and then fulfilled his duty before lifting himself off your shoulder and flying out of the window with the letter. Looking out the window, you watched him fly off with a smile. "He's so gorgeous."

"Niklaus," Draco called out, lifting up his arm, and onto it landed a brown Eagle Owl with beautiful, large ears as he twisted his head around. "Meet [F/n] Potter. She's a bitch."

"Not as much as your owner," you said, smiling, lifting up your hand and also petting Niklaus, who allowed you to do so freely.

"He bit Pansy when she tried to pet him."

"I have this effect on both you and your owl, wow."

Draco smiled. "Yeah, you do."

"If only you were as pretty as your owl," you said with a grin.

"If only you were as obedient as Albus."

"Oh, shut up," you rolled your eyes humorously. "Do you send letters often?"

"I used to write them more often. My mother wrote to me quite often, and I'd always respond."

"Your mother," you paused, recalling Lucius' face in the graveyard. "What's she like?"

"My mother? Yes, she's very kind."

"Good," you whispered, pursing your lips.

"Good?"

"I don't like your father."

Draco cleared his throat. "Yeah, I know you don't."

"But you do?"

"Yes."

"Low standards," you said with a faint grin, hoping to lighten the mood due to the depressing talk of his parents.

"Clearly I do. I slept with you, after all."

"I ... " you paused, not knowing what to respond. You had trapped yourself in that one, and all you could do was smile and shake your head disappointed, but somewhat impressed at the quality of the joke.

Niklaus had now left Draco's arm and returned to his place. So, you and Draco stood at the window through which owls flew out of. He leaned on the wall on one side of the window, as you leaned on the other side of the window, and the two of you faced each other with the window gap in between you.

"You're kind of pretty, I guess," he finally said with a sneer.

"Kind of pretty? Hold on - let me just recall ... I want you, though," you said, mocking him from The Three Broomsticks, and he shook his head in defeat.

"Isn't it kind of a flex, though?"

"What is?" You asked.

"I get to say I took [F/n] Potter's virginity. The [F/n] Potter's virginity. The girl who survived the darkest wizard of all time."

You had a question itching at the back of your mind. It'd been there for days now, and you were extremely curious of it, but you were afraid to ask each and every time the opportunity arose. It wasn't often that you, [F/n] Potter, were afraid of something, but this was a huge case, and you had to convince yourself deeply to finally ask Draco the question.

"I have a question."

"Go on."

"I'm nervous to ask it."

"You? Nervous? That's new."

"Now you've made me more nervous."

"No, no, go on, Potter. I want to know."

"I'm scared."

"Of what?"

"The answer, I think. Or maybe simply I don't want to admit that I'm curious of this."

"It can't be that bad," he said, standing straight and making his way over to you. He leaned on the other side of the window so he was now beside you, right in front of you as the two of you looked at each other, both leaning on your sides against the wall, facing each other. "And it's only me."

"Only you? The guy I've been competing with for years?"

He laughed. "Yeah, true. Just ask it, though."

"Well," you paused, looking at him intently. "Uh," you bit your lip, afraid to ask. "Do you want to do face masks together?"

"Face masks?" He irked his eyebrow, curious, as a smile rose. "I know that's not the question you wanted to ask, but I do want to, actually."

"Wait, can we actually do face masks?" You said with a huge grin.

"Yes. If you ask the real question."

"Alright," you exhaled. "So, you know how like ... we did it."

"We fucked, yeah."

"Well, you know how ... you have a girlfriend."

"Yeah," he answered slowly, afraid of where the question was also heading.

"Have you ... and her ... also ... " you paused, not wanting to finish the question. For a moment, your heart dropped, afraid of the answer. Especially when you saw Draco purse his lips.

However, the pursed lips soon turned into a soft gaze and a faint smile.

"Congratulations." He said.

"What?"

"Yeah, you too."

"I too?"

"You too were my first."

And suddenly, your heart sprung with joy. You did not quite know how to react. There was something so satisfying about this news, and you had to hold back your smile. Failing miserably, a huge grin appeared on your face, causing your eyes to half-close due to the excessive smile. Draco, noticing the extent of your smile, also reciprocated the joy and smiled with you.

"Why are you so happy about that?" He asked, laughing quietly.

"The same reason you're glad that you were my first."

"Because it means I'll always remember you as a significant person in my life and, in a way, it makes me yours completely and forever?" He asked, smirking, as his eyes slithered onto your waist and around it, taking a hold of your petite body and pulling you closer in towards him, until your body was right against his.

"Because all your future fucks will be compared to me and you'll realise how cool I actually am," you said with ironic thumbs up, diminishing the somewhat romantic and intimate atmosphere. He, however, rolled his eyes with a smile before lowering himself to your lips and kissing them slowly. Reciprocating, you smiled into the kiss and pressed yourself against him more.

"The owls are watching," he finally whispered into your ear after the kiss ended.

"Better owls than people."

"What would you do if one of your friends found out?"

"Kill myself."

"Doesn't the female Weasley know?"

"Yeah. She's the only one."

"Did you tell her?"

"No. I walked into the room and she said I have a sex glow about me, and then we went to Hogsmeade so that I could explain everything to her."

"Explains why you were talking about me."

"God, please do not tell any of your friends. They are absolute snakes and will tell everyone else."

"Just because they're in Slytherin doesn't mean they're snakes."

"Yes, they are."

"What about Blaise? He wouldn't tell anyone. He actually talks about you a lot, and I can't tell if it's because he's in love with you or he wants me to be in love with you."

"God forbid the second one."

"In love with you? You wish." He smirked.

"I wish?" You cried out. "I'd rather tell the world I begged to have sex with you than have you in love with me."

"Yeah, yeah," he whispered, rolling his eyes with a smile whilst lowering himself yet again to your lips only to kiss you again, except longer and harsher, holding you tightly and pulling you against him tighter, until it was physically impossible to be any closer. You also held your hands up, one hand on his shoulder and one hand on the side of his face, holding him close and against you. And, finally, when you parted, he looked down at you with a smile before asking: "face masks then?"
