*two days ago*
"you want us to what?!" tenya asks in surprise, "i want you guys to design me a new hero suit." you say bluntly, "you already did that so many times though, why again?" ochako asks, "im not really sure why, but this one doesnt feel right...it feels so limited. i want my costume to feel like a second skin, you know?" you explain, "that makes sense, so you want us to make it?" momo asks, "yes. you guys can choose whatever you want, just dont go overboard. all i need is an actual sketch and everything by the end of the day." you answer before walking away. four hours later, you hear a knock on your door. you open it and find all your classmates. "we finished!" mina says happily, "alright, wanna explain it to me?" you request, "right, so we designed it off your original costume, but we gave the legs braces and metal soles like izuku. the upper half is fairly unchanged, the hood and torso area are the same, but we decided to remove the sleeves and gloves. for the last thing, denki is gonna cash in a favor from me. we wanted you to have some sort of support item, so we decided on special headphones! on each ear you will be able to toggle outside sounds, and if you put them on under your hood, it activates a HUD with a bunch of cool stuff." mina explains, "wait, so its modeled after my dread suit?" you ask in surprise, "well, yeah. you said that you wanted it to seem like second skin, so we figured your original hero suit would work well!" ochako explains happily. "perfect." you say with a smile.
*present time*
when you walk out onto the field, you see the surprise on midnights face. "uh, everyone look to the board to see your partner! they have been chosen to accommodate for skill, experience, communication, and trust!" midnight exclaims. you look to see that kyoka is on your team, you walk over to her and start talking. "so, looks like its us against the world. again." you joke, "yeah, nice to know i get a free ride to the finals." she adds, "nah, i think several of these teams may win..." you say while eyeing the board. "yeah, i guess. who do we need to be careful of?" she asks, "i mean, our biggest threat is probably denki and katsuki, but momo and tenya are also a really good team." you explain, "true, they will have a good plan for sure." kyoka agrees. "by the way, what all does the HUD do?" you ask curiously, "while active it combines images from a thermal camera and a HD camera in the headphones to give you more advanced sight. on the left side of the headphones are several buttons, they will let you maneuver through it. by the corner it should show your vitals, how much your overclocked, and how much time you have left. you can also pull up another panel that will run a full CT scan to show a 3d model of your body and injuries. comms are built in, they can detect nearby heroes through the HN. somewhere in there, you should be able to access the rope momo made you from your left leg, and last but not least, we had everyone in the class record you audio. each file is marked with a scenario, so only open them when you are in those scenarios." kyoka explains, "oh, damn. this thing is sick! you said hatsume made this?" you ask, "yeah, she actually already had worked on a one sided HUD in the past, so all she had to do was code and remodel it." she answers.
"alright! now that you have had sufficient time to strategize, i will announce how this event will take place! thanks to cementoss, every fight will be happening simultaneously! around you there are several low walls, each fight will be taking place within one of them. the crowd and cameras can see everything, but your knowledge will be extremely limited!" midnight explains, "so we are going one fight to the next, huh? perfect." you say with a grin. "also! there will be no break between matches! after defeating your opponent, you will move closer to the center. another team will meet you there eventually, and they will be your next battle! if you have time, feel free to practice first aid or anything else that could be used on the battle field!" midnight adds. tenya then raises his hand and asks a question, "what if a more destructive quirk blasts through a wall?" he asks, "in the event of that happening, the fight will get more interesting! teaming up with other teams like this is allowed, but only one team can proceed from each battle field." she answers.
after a few more minutes, you and kyoka are led to your arena. on the other side, stand kendo and monoma. "everyone may begin." aizawa says, you pull your headphones on under your hood, and allow outside sound to come in. "how is the HUD?" kyoka asks, "perfect, can i link up to your headphones with these comms?" you ask, "yep, through the HUD somewhere." she answers. you find it quickly, and connect them. "alright, it looks like they are being cautious." you whisper, "i know, think they have backup coming?" kyoka asks, "possible, but unlikely. we didnt have much time to do any planning, my guess is that they are worried." you answer, "then lets give them a reason to worry." kyoka says while smirking. "sound good to me." you agree before overclocking x70. "scared?" you taunt the other team, "not quite! its a good thing your teacher led me and kendo here!" monoma yells, you feel yourself power down while his eyes glow red. "god, thats a little bit irritating, ya know?" "he erased mine too, but its still gonna be a mostly two v one against kendo." kyoka whispers, "then lets go!" you shout while running towards kendo. she grows her hand and swats you away immediately, however you get up and charge again. "while i distract her, move to their side of the arena." you order, "why?" kyoka asks, "trust me." you say before rushing kendo again. kyoka does as you say, and you run back to your starting side. "what? leaving your girlfriend all alone?" monoma asks, "not quite." you say with a smile. monoma blinks, and continues using the quirk on you. "now." you whisper. suddenly, kyoka stabs both of them in the ear with her jacks and they quickly fall unconscious. "good work!" you yell while walking over to her. "ready for the next match?" she asks, "lets go!"
the two of you run into the next stadium, only to see a ton of smoke. "one male, and a female. both fairly normal body types, no mutation quirk." you say, describing your thermal vision to kyoka. she plugs her jacks into the ground and adds more information, "this must be momo and tenya, i can hear wheels and clanging metal." kyoka says quietly, "alright, they might not know we are here, you focus on keeping momo distracted, i will handle tenya." you whisper, "got it." as soon as kyoka confirms the plan, you use an x10 overblast to blow the smoke away. momo immediately fires the cannon at kyoka, knocking her back into the wall. "recipro burst!" tenya exclaims before rushing you. dodging him easily, you pull out the rope from your legs. within seconds you capture both momo and tenya. "you okay kyoka?" you ask while aproaching her, "ugh, yeah." she says shakily, you help her up and the two of you approach the next stadium.
walking into the empty arena, you help kyoka sit down by a wall. "momo got you good, huh?" you joke, "yeah, she probably thought you would block it to be fair." kyoka reasons, "true, but i knew you could take it. do you wanna try to take this fight easy? unless its katsuki and denki, i think i should be fine." you reason, "yeah, thats probably best." she agrees. "through here!" you hear someone yell behind you, turning around you see shoji and tsuyu. "dammit! (y/n) and jiro!" shoji exclaims, "yep, sorry about that. kyoka is a bit tired after our last fight, so just me today!" you say with a grin, "anything we can do to win?" shoji asks tsuyu, "his quirk only effects his strength, not his resistance. if he lands a hit, we lose, but if we dodge...we can win!" tsuyu says confidently, "are you sure? i have seen him get up from broken bones like they were nothing." shoji argues, "positive. when he fought muscular, he was rendered basically helpless when his leg got broken. he only gets back up because his pain tolerance is beyond amazing, but even if he doesnt feel our hits...it does damage. if we knock him out, or take his limbs out of the equation, then we win." tsuyu answers, "easier said than done." shoji says nervously. suddenly, tsuyu leaps at you, you block her kick with your arm easily, however her and shoji begin attacking you relentlessly. "(y/n)! can you handle this?!" kyoka calls out, clearly worried. "yeah, im fine." you grunt. suddenly, kyoka and the wall behind her go flying across the stadium. "KYOKA?!" you shout. you look behind you to see katuki and denki fighting shiozaki and kamakiri. "dammit katsuki!" you yell, without hesitation you rush to kyokas side. "you okay?" you ask in concern, "fuck, the hell was that?" she asks tiredly, "katsuki. can you move?" you ask her, "not really." she admits. you lean her up against the wall, and turn to the three other teams. "you all fucked up." you say darkly. within moments you knock out both shoji and tsuyu, before turning towards the other two teams, still locked in battle. "oi! katsuki!" you shout while holding up your left hand, "what?!" he calls back, "win your fucking fight so i can beat your ass in the final!" you yell before firing an x500 overblast straight towards the two teams.
you slowly walk back to kyoka and pick her up. "im sorry..." she says weakly, "for what? you were weak from our last fight, and katsuki cant fucking aim." you say while carrying her into the finals arena. "and (y/n) enters the final arena first, with jiro in his arms." aizawa announces. the crowd cheers while you sit kyoka down near the middle of the stadium. you sit down next to her, and she leans her head on your shoulder. "we are gonna lose this one, arent we?" kyoka asks worriedly, "im not sure, but its gonna be close. shoji and tsuyu hurt me a lot, they figured ot my biggest weakness." you admit, "any bad injuries?" kyoka asks, "my left arm is shattered from the shoulder down and i have a broken rib. other than that, they only chipped away at my stamina." you explain, "could be worse i guess. i feel like i could pass out any moment, but nothing serious i dont think. can you overclock me a little bit? i should be able to help if you do." kyoka offers, "okay, deal." you say before overclocking her x10. "wait, if your at your limit, what is overclocking me gonna do to you?" kyoka asks while you help her up, "uh, lets see here. in twenty three minutes i will feel the same effect i did when i would go x11 before one for all." you say quietly, "oh, so you only feel the effect more after your limit now?" she asks, "yep. i might pass out from exhaustion, but i should be fine." you explain with a yawn. "(y/n)! im gonna kill you!" katsuki screams behind you. you and kyoka immediately get into a fighting stance, realizing that denki and katsuki won. "thats worrying." kyoka says, "your not wrong. our big threat is denki, if he saved his power then he can take me out easily. im gonna keep them close together and distracted, when i say blast them with all you got." you say quickly.
after giving kyoka instructions, you leap towards denki and katsuki. dunce face!" katsuki shouts, before he can back up however, you grab his wrist. after pulling both him and denki close to you and muting your headset, you shout to kyoka. "now!" she plugs her jacks into her boots and starts blasting denki and katsuki with sound. after a few seconds you let go of them and jump back to kyoka. "did it work?" you ask while unmuting your headphones. "not really." she admits. you look back at the two boys and see them standing up. "ready moron?" katsuki asks darkly, "of course i am!" denki exclaims. katsuki grabs him by the hand and uses a big blast to launch them into the air. "explode-a-pult! shocker!" katsuki shouts, he uses his other hand to fire constant blasts, spinning the two rapidly. out of nowhere, denki comes flying directly at you and kyoka, "indiscriminate shock: maximum output!" he yells, "oh, shit!" you exclaim. without thinking, you jump on kyoka to protect her, however you feel nothing. the entire stadium in silent as you stand up. confused, you look around. katsuki is completely unconscious thanks to the attack from denki, and said student is laying on the ground in his dumb mode. you look in confusion to midnight, who is just staring at you. "bakugo and kaminari are out, (y/n) and jiro continue to the final round..." she says. "(y/n)?" kyoka asks, "you look down at her and see she too looks shocked, "what? why is everyone silent all of the sudden? how did i not feel tht attack?" you ask.
"very interesting, in a moment of sheer panic and the urge to save his comrade, it seems as though (y/n) just had a quirk awakening!"
