"No, Tatsuma. You're just gonna get into more trouble!!" (Y/N) scolded with an angry look on her face as she watched Sakamoto sneak out secretively from his house.
"It'll be alright! No one will know, and we'll be back before they know it!!" Sakamoto grins at her brightly.
"Honestly....You and your stupid ideas..." She sighed exasperatedly and crossed her arms. "Wherever you go, I'm coming along with, okay?!"
Suddenly, (Y/N) spots a group of men rush towards them and before she knew it Sakamoto was gone.
"T-Tatsuma?...Wait— Where—!!!"
"Ahahahahah! Ahahahaha! How did I get here again?" Sakamoto laughed merrily to himself as he looked around and found himself locked inside a small cell.
"Ahahahha....How do I get out?" Even as a child, he was still unbelievably optismistic. Being the kid of a rich family meant that he was prone to kidnapping- and that was exactly his current situation.
"Hey, are you finally awake?" Sakamoto heard a young girl's voice from the metal bars ahead of him. He raised an eyebrow when he saw no one there. "Ah, I might be hearing things! Ahahahahah! But it sounded like (Y/N)-chan's voice."
"No, idiot. I saw you get taken so I came to save you, but you were sleeping." This time, Sakamoto turned to meet beautiful (E/C) orbs staring at him.
"Honestly, you're probably the only idiot in the world who can fall asleep after getting kidnapped." (Y/N) face palmed as she looked at the lock, analyzing it so she could open it
"Oh? Are you here to visit me, (Y/N)-chan? Ahahahaha!" Sakamoto loudly laughed, scratching the back of his neck, while she was still trying to pick the lock out.
"No...I'm here to hang out, obviously to help you get out!" She rolled her eyes at him, Sakamoto's eyes widened when she did so. He cleared his throat and tried to hide his blush.
In his eyes, everything she did was cute.
"W-Well- why would you want to help me?"
"Why? Should I leave someone in need of help all alone? I'm not that heartless! Now, come on!" She had actually managed to pick the lock and succeeded in getting Sakamoto out.
"So, let's get out of here, okay?" She held his hand tightly and led him outside. Sakamoto held tightly on her hand too, as if not wanting to let go.
"Alright! We'll talk more when we get out of here, okay?" She beams at him as they hide behind a wall. (Y/N) peeked slightly over the corner to see men running around yelling.
"HE GOT AWAY!!"
"Oi! I think I saw something run over here!!"
"They saw us- Come on!!" (Y/N) grabbed his hand again and ran out to an alley. Sakamoto panted as he looked at her, she looked around wary of the surroundings before she spotted an empty barrel.
"Tatsuma, can you get in here?" She asked him, lifting the lid off of the barrel. Sakamoto nodded and got in, but still clueless of what she wanted to do.
"I HEARD SOMETHING OVER THERE!!"
(Y/N)'s heart beat quickened when she heard thundering footsteps nearing their hideout. She looked back and forth between Tatsuma and the alley.
All of a sudden, she cracked a smile at Tatsuma.
"Hey, Tatsuma. Can you.....promise me something?" She turned to Sakamoto who was now inside a large barrel, staring at her curiously.
"What is it?"
"Can you....keep quiet for a while?" She pressed a finger against her lips and winked at him. "No matter what happens don't say anything, don't move, or do anything okay?" She says, holding her pinky out to him.
"Don't you even laugh! Ah, but for now- you should really keep quiet, okay? When everything is okay, you can go out and we can laugh together! Can you promise to stay here?"
".....I'll promise you anything!" Sakamoto grinned largely at her and locked his pinky with hers. "Alright!" She laughs lowly, as she lifted the lid again.
"I'll come back to you. So, wait for me, alright?"
With that— (Y/N) hurriedly closed the lid and ran off. (Y/N) raced to the end of the alley and cupped her hands around her mouth.
"I'M OVER HERE YOU IDIOTS!!"
"There she is!! Catch her!!!"
Sakamoto found himself all alone once again.
He pulled his knees to his chest and clamped a hand over his mouth. He could hear a bunch of noise and commotion outside, but he didn't dare look- he promised her that he would stay still.
When everything went quiet and a long time had passed by. Sakamoto slowly crept out of the barrel and looked around. No one was there- he was alone, because she wasn't there.
".....(Y/N)?...." He weakly called out as he looked around and started walking around.
"....Ahahahaa.....This isn't funny...." Sakamoto frowned, feeling tears sting his eyes.
He kept waiting for her, each and every day since that day and sure enough—
She never came back.
Sakamoto looked down at the barrel he used to hide and smiled half heartedly. "You said we'll laugh together after we get out...." A sad smile appeared on his face, and he looked like he was on the verge of crying.
"Since you're not here, I'll laugh for the both us! Ahahahahah! Hahahahaha!" Sakamoto placed his hands on his waist and tipped his head down.
"One day,I'll find my way back to you, (Y/N)."

(Y/N) stretched her arms as she slid the door to Otose's Snack Bar carefully. "Good morning, Otose-san, Tama-chan, Catherine-san!!" She greeted happily, the three females turning to her with a smile.
"Good morning, (Y/N)." Otose smiled sincerely at the woman, watching as she put on her apron and started to put the sign out. (Y/N) was the girl who lived next door to Otose's Bar, she lived alone and didn't have a job- but then Otose offered her a job in her bar, ever since then she's been working there.
"(Y/N)-chan, can you try and collect Gintoki's rent? If he doesn't pay, you have my permission to kill him." Otose pleaded with an exasperated sigh, as she shook her head.
Otose saw (Y/N) as her own daughter, as she had been with Otose even before Gintoki came. Back then, it was only Otose and (Y/N). (Y/N) was a sweet girl, so the Yorozuya can't help but love her too, eventually even they became protective of her because she was so innocent.
"Oh, of course. Ah, but— I don't want to kill anyone, haha." (Y/N) smiled sweetly at Otose as she made her way to the house upstairs— to the house that never pays rent.
She hummed happily to herself as she rang the doorbell but no one answered. (Y/N) leaned closer, she could hear a bunch of muffled noises inside so she decided to walk inside.
"Hello? Gin-chan?....Kagura-chan, Shin-chan?" She called out softly, peeking from the doorway to the living room where she sees 2 more people aside from the three she called out.
"Oh, It's just you, (Y/N)." Gintoki sighed in relief placing a hand on his chest. "I thought it was the old hag."
"Oh, I came on behalf of Otose-san!" (Y/N) brightly grinned, connecting her hands behind her. "Please pay your rent, Gin-chan!"
"Has she corrupted you too? Where has our pure, innocent and kind hearted (Y/N)-chan gone to?!" Gintoki pretended to look around. "(Y/N)-chan, don't become a black-hearted hag who is fueled by greed."
Sakamoto froze when she walked in. She looked exactly like a mature and older version of the (Y/N) that he once knew. The girl he's been searching for all his life.
Surprised and stunned, he wasn't able to utter out a single word to her. He could only stare, feeling tears pool in his blue eyes.
Finally, he was reunited with her.
Now, Sakamoto is a well known woman lover, but every single woman he has ever asked out rejected him- but he never really minded it because he never really was serious. It was all just fleeting emotions brought by the spur of the moment.
But with (Y/N), it was different. She was the only one he had in his heart all the years of his life. Just when he was about to lose hope of finding her again– she showed up in front of him.
"Gin-chan, this is the last time I'm covering up for you." (Y/N) puffed her cheeks and put her hands on her waist. "Otose-san won't stand for it, you have to pay next month, okay?"
"Yes, yes. I'll pay next month!! Thank you for your kind consideration!!"
"(Y-Y/N)...." Sakamoto awkwardly raised a hand to reach out to her but wasn't able to move his hand due to nervousness. He was still unsure if he was hallucinating or if this was all a dream because— it has been a really long time.
"Oh, uh— Do I...know you?" She shot him a nervous smile. Sakamoto felt as if an arrow pierced his heart. How could she not remember him? The boy she spent her childhood life with, the boy she risked her life to save.
The boy she promised to come back to.
"Well, it seems you have guests. I'll be on my way." Her eyes shot over to Mutsu who nodded at her, she bowed and shortly exited the room. Suddenly, Sakamoto grabbed Gintoki's collar with wide eyes.
"K-K-Kintoki, you bastard!! Why are you hiding her from me!?" Sakamoto repeatedly shook Gintoki back and forth while Shinpachi, Kagura and Mutsu watched wih a bored gaze.
"A-Ack! O-Oi!! I wasn't hiding her!!" Gintoki croaks out, after managing to break free from Sakamoto's monstrous hold.
"S-She's alive? She was here the whole time? alive, safe.....Ah, this is....fate!" Sakamoto dramatically clasped his hands together and looked up with a look of enlightenment.
"And this-" Mutsu raised a fist, "Is Divine Judgement." She deadpanned, bringing her fist down upon Sakamoto's head knocking the man out.
"We look forward to your cooperation." Mutsu bowed respectfully towards the Yorozuya, grabbing Sakamoto by the edge of his collar she dragged him away.

"KINTOKI, YOU HAVE TO HELP ME!!"
After finding out that (Y/N) was so close to his dear friend Kintoki. Sakamoto told him everything about her and him, and made Gintoki help him out and try to make her remember him.
"Kintoki, you think she'll remember me from this?" Sakamoto looked down at the barrel worriedly, which he wore as a costume around his body.
"Yes, yes. You said she hid you in a barrel right?" Gintoki nonchalantly says, shrugging his shoulders. "Gin-chan, (Y/N)-nee is coming!!" Kagura yells as she quickly ran to where they were.
"It's your time to shine!!" Gintoki pushed Sakamoto's back and he stumbled forward. Sakamoto then saw (Y/N) with a confused expression on her face.
"'Can I...uh, help you?...." She laughed awkwardly, as she scratched her cheek unsure of what to say.
"Ah!! He left he lid!!" Kagura gasped spotting the lid of the barrel beside her. "HERE!! CATCH!!" Kagura yells as she threw the lid at Sakamoto's head, completely forgetting she had monstrous strength.
"(Y/N)-chan, don't you remember— ACK!" Sakamoto was hit on the back of his head with the wooden lid and lost his balance and thus he was now rolling down the street.
"A-AHH!! I FEEL SICK! I'M GONNA PUKEE!!"
"Uh....What just happened?...." (Y/N) sweat dropped when Gintoki, Kagura and Shinpachi ran past her to chase the rolling Sakamoto.

"The first attempt was a fail but they say second time's the charm! Ahahahahah! Hahahaha!" Sakamoto laughed, facing Gintoki who was picking his nose with his pinky.
"So, what do we do today, Kintoki?"
"Okay, okay. Kagura, bring it in!" Gintoki snapped his fingers and Kagura nodded. Then, she came in pushing in a bunch of BDSM materials.
"Uh....Kintoki, what exactly do we do with that?" Sakamoto smiled but the corners of his lips were twitching slightly. "Huh? You said she locked you up, that means she has a fetish with these kinds of things right?" Gintoki says naturally as he furrowed his eyebrows.
"I MEAN THAT I WAS KIDNAPPED AND SHE FREED ME!!" Sakamoto yelled at him. Just then, they hear the door slide open.
"Gin-chan, I think—" (Y/N) paused when she saw the BDSM stuff in Gintoki and Sakamoto's hands. She then made eye contact with the two men and blushed.
"I'M SORRY FOR INTRUDING YOUR LOVE AFFAIR. PLEASE CONTINUE!!"
"WAIT—(Y/N)-CHAN!!—"

Sakamoto lets out a deep sigh as he plopped down unto a bench. He looked up at the sky with a sad smile— and suddenly she came to his mind.
"....Maybe it's for the best..." He stated in a weak voice as he closed his eyes. Sakamoto had almost lost all hope of finding her, but when he was so ready to give up she just appeared. Just when he finally thought he could be with her, fulfill their promise.
Fate was playing a game with him.
"We're better off as strangers." He sighs as he gulped thickly, he didn't want to cry. But, his heart was in pain— because he still loved her.
He's been loving her all the years of his life. Not once did he ever forget her, or not think about her. She had always been the center of his heart, ever since she disappeared.
"If she can't remember me, that's fine...I'm satisfied knowing that she's living a good life, Ahahahaha." Sakamoto laughs weakly, his lips forming a weak smile.
".....I didn't forget about you."
Sakamoto's eyes widened, he felt his heart hammering in his chest as he slowly looked up to see (Y/N) standing in front of him.
"W-What?...." His voice came out shakily, trembling and low like a whimper. (Y/N) smiled warmly at him, cupping his cheeks with her warm hands.
"I....never forgot about you, not once in all the years I've been alive. I even thought it was all a dream when I saw you again." She mumbled lowly, as tears pooled in her eyes, moving her hands away from his cheek. Sakamoto couldn't believe what he was hearing from her right now.
"B-But you— at Kintoki's place, you said you didn't know me!!" He reasoned, standing up in disbelief, his blue eyes wide as he awaited her reply.
"I thought it'd be better that way," She cast her eyes downward with a small frown. "After all, you have a new life now. Also, it might be disreepectful to your girlfriend." She sheepishly says as she gave him a sheepish grin.
"But......I am glad to see you doing well, Tatsuma."
"Girlfriend? What are you saying, (Y/N)-chan!" Sakamoto protests as he grabbed her hand and placed it on his chest. "My heart only has you in it!!"
"W-What?....." (Y/N) gasped as she blushed. Then she bit her lip and punched him. "Y-You idiot!! Why didn't you say so!? I pretended I didn't know you because I thought you had somebody else in your life, it's been years after all!!"
"Although it hurt my heart, I smiled because I was happy for you," She clutched her chest. "Because....I thought I couldn't go back to you anymore." She whimpered lowly.
"I'm here....always waiting for you to go back to me." Sakamoto smiled lowly as he wrapped his arms around her and hugged her gently. "But I got tired of waiting for you to come to me."
"Tatsuma, what—"
"That's why—" He placed a small distance between them and smiled at her. "This time, I'll be the one who goes back to you." Sakamoto says as he rests his forehead against hers and looks her in the eye.
"Will you accept me? If I finally go back to you, this time?" He asked her sweetly. (Y/N) smiled and let her tears slip out.
"Dummy," She smiled warmly. "If you go back to me, I won't ever let you go again."
