Courtney
She wants me to tell Niall how I feel. That's easier said than done. I mean, what if I tell him and he doesn't feel the same way, which would be kind of awkward to live in the same house as him? What if he thinks I'm just a friend? I mean, he can have any girl in the world, so why would he pick me? I'm the one with so many problems it isn't funny. But I guess I can think of that later when the time comes -
BECAUSE I AM GOING TO LONDON! HELL YES!
If I weren't standing in front of my mom and by myself, I'd be doing a happy dance right about now.
"Okay, I will! And thank you so much!" I was jumping up and down as I quickly engulfed my mother in a bear hug. It was then that I noticed the five boys standing in the doorway, with a ton of boxes behind them. They looked like they wanted to be in this.
"Are y'all going to join? I know you want to." After I said that, I felt five other boys wrap around my mom and me. This felt like my family. I mean, I was finding their clothes all over the laundry room.
"I guess since we are leaving tomorrow morning, we should probably pack what you're taking, now," Niall said once we all broke apart. He seemed just as eager as I was.
"Let's do it!" I yelled as I was wiping away the tears that had fallen down my cheeks that were pure joy. All of the boys grabbed some boxes and ran up to my room while I walked up the stairs, carefully trying not to hurt anything. When I finally reached the doorway, the boys already put most of my clothes from my wardrobe into the boxes.
But I noticed one of the boys was raiding my drawers and finding what he was looking for.
"LOUIS, WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING!" I screamed at him while he pulled out a pair of blue and red thongs, stretching them apart, and screaming SUPERMAN! They were probably my favorite pair that I owned. That boy just had to find the one drawer filled with my undergarments.
"Courtney, you're not as much of a good girl as I thought you were if you have underwear like this!" He smirked while pulling them in front of him for all the other boys to see. I think I turned fifty shades of red, and all the other boys laughed.
"THAT'S NOT FUCKING FUNNY!" I yelled at him, extremely embarrassed, while taking the underwear from him, tossing them into a box, and moving him away from my dresser. I'm not going to lie, I like wearing the thongs better than regular panties. more comfort
"Courtney," My mother shouted from downstairs. "Watch the language."
"Sorry!!" I shouted back while glaring at Louis. He just kept smirking at me, and then he winked at me. All the boys had stopped laughing by now and were just watching the exchange, but started working again when I got yelled at.
"This, dear Louis, is not the end! I will get payback. So watch your back at all times, that means you might want to sleep with one eye open from now on." I said before, smacking the back of his head.
"Ow, what was that for?" He rubbed the back of his head, but I could see the smirk still evident on his face.
"Don't be going through my underwear drawer, Louis. I swear, I don't know if any of my clothes are safe with you around. " I said while putting the rest of the drawer and the one below it into a box and then sealing it with tape.
"I don't think you can call those underwear." I heard Liam mutter under his breath to Zayn, who was standing right beside him.
"Yeah, the best kind, so quit knocking them," Zayn whispered back, clearly an enjoyer of the underwear type.
I haven't even left my house and moved in with them yet, and I am already annoyed with these boys. How am I going to stand the months on end with them during the summer?
"Guys, I would watch it. She has two older brothers and a younger one. I'm sure she could kick any guy's ass if they piss her off too much." Niall said while sticking up for me.
"Thanks, Ni." I sent him a smile, thanking him. The topic of underwear never came up again as everyone started grabbing things around my room and placing them in the boxes at their feet. I noticed just how bare the room was getting as more boxes were being sealed and taken down to the van.
"Since it's getting late, I think that maybe we should all head to bed. You know, because we have an early morning tomorrow and we all know how much Zayn, Courtney, and Nialler love their sleep." Harry said while messing with Zayn's hair, which he didn't enjoy, and tried smacking his hand back.
"Leave the hair alone, Haz." He screeched, trying to smooth it back the way he liked it.
"Yeah, I'm pretty pooped. " Liam protested. I heard an echo, okay, 'Yeah's' behind them, so I figured everyone was as tired as I was. "Are we just staying here or going to Niall's?" Zayn's voice asked, after finally getting himself situated.
"Well, I guess since my brother is back in West Virginia, two of you can share his bed, and then there is the guest bedroom that I guess another two can sleep in, and then someone can sleep on the couch or in here. Or Niall has his empty bed over at his house if you do want to go over to his house." I said, swaying back and forth, feeling just as tired as everyone else seemed to be.
"Okay, I guess Louis and I will take your brother's room, and then Zayn and Liam can take the guest room, and Niall can sleep in here if he wants to?" Harry said, sending Niall a very obvious smirk. I ignored it, seeming as though Niall and I have always had sleepovers. It wasn't a big deal to us.
"Okay, sounds like a plan! Now everyone's out, I'm changing and going to bed. Niall, when I am done, you can come back in. There are extra clothes in the laundry room of yours if you need them." They all shuffled out of the room, and I made my way to the bathroom. I quickly put on some fuzzy white shorts and a white t-shirt with some type of writing on it and made my way back to the door to let Niall in.
"Okay, I'm done. Now get in here and go to sleep before I decide to put you on the couch for tonight." I joked with him.
He laughed at my comment while making his way back into the room. Before I could even say much more, he went into my bathroom. While he was changing, I turned off the light, then made my way to my bed and pulled the covers over my shoulders. It was nice and comfy in here as I closed my eyes. Not even a couple of seconds later, Niall came out of the bathroom and slid into the bed beside me.
"Night, Cori." He said while hugging me. Which I must say, felt extremely nice to be in his arms.
"Night, Nialler," I told him. I was glad I was facing the opposite side of him because I was blushing like a maniac.
Niall
I watched her drift to sleep. She looked so peaceful. I was really tired, but for some reason, my mind wanted to wander. I thought about everything. This morning, before Courtney woke up, all the boys and I were over at her house watching the television. Her mom had come downstairs, telling us she changed her mind about London. That was amazing, by the way, but she told us not to tell her that she had to talk to her about some conditions. I wondered what they were, but I didn't push her mom into telling. Before telling Cori, she told us to go pick up some boxes and bring them back to the house, and when we came back, we got the end of everything.
I guess it's all a little unreal, but by tomorrow we will be back at the house, and Courtney will be with us. It would be her first time in London, and I knew she would love it. Louis had the great idea that we stay at a vacation house for the summer. We loved that, so we had Paul go ahead and take some of our stuff over. I even had him pick a room for Courtney to stay in and decorate it a bit for her. She still had the fun of decorating it the rest of the way.
Every time I closed my eyes, they seemed to get heavier, and ultimately I fell asleep.
I was sitting in the living room of a house, and the guys, plus Courtney, were all sitting in a circle around me.
"Don't worry, since you're our new girl, we will take it easy on you!" Harry said while giving Courtney a very cheeky smile.
"Okay, I'll start! Liam, truth or dare?" Louis looked at Liam, an evil grin forming. "Dare." He responded. Liam didn't look like he wanted to answer.
"Okay, I dare you to go get a bowl of ice cream and eat it throughout the game, and you must eat it with a spoon. All of it, too." Louis sang the last part. Liam looked horrified, but went into the kitchen for a few minutes and came back out with a bowl and a spoon. He sat back down and hesitantly ate a spoonful of ice cream. He swallowed and continued the game.
"Okay, now that I survived that. Zayn, truth or dare?" He looked at Zayn, picking him as his next target.
"Dare!" Zayn boosted. He looked confident about his answer, but that quickly changed in a matter of seconds.
"Hmm, I dare you to part your hair down the middle and spray hairspray in it and then post a picture on Twitter, and you can't say it was a dare!"
Zayn's look was twenty times more shocked than Liam's was, but he still got up while muttering some curse words and went into the bathroom. A couple of minutes later, he came out, and everyone busted out into laughter. His hair looked funny the way he had it, but it was a dare, so he had to do it. Before he could fix it, Liam grabbed his phone and took a picture. Which he then posted to Twitter.
"So Courtney, truth or dare?" Zayn said while winking at her. Shoot, this was not going to be good either way. One girl is playing truth or dare with the five of us. Four of them knew that I was growing feelings for her.
"Dare." Shit, she's in for it. "I dare you to sit for the entire game in just your bra and knickers." Zayn winked at her. I know my best friend too well; she's extremely shy and self-conscious. She wouldn't be doing this dare.
But when I looked over, she already had her shirt off and was pulling off her shorts. Guess I didn't know my friend as well as I thought I did.
"There! Now, Harry, truth or dare?" she shot him a very cheeky wink that I didn't like. I had a feeling that his turn was going to hurt.
"Truth." Wow, he usually goes for dares. Another suspicious thing?
"Hmmm, oh, I got it.. Harry, do you want to kiss me as much as I want to kiss you?"
What in the hell did I just hear? Where did that come from? Harry smiled ear to ear and then quietly got up and walked over to Courtney. He put his hand behind her neck, pulled her up into his arms, and kissed her. NO, NO, NO, this can't be happening! Since they were standing, she wrapped her legs around him and clung for dear life. I thought a knife had been stabbed through my heart when he placed her hands on her bum and squeezed.
I shot up in bed with sweat rolling off and my heart pounding so fast I thought I was going to pass out. I turned over, and the alarm clock was blinking two o'clock in a green glow. I have only been asleep for a few hours. Everyone had to be out of bed by two thirty because we had to make our four o'clock flight, and it takes a good hour just to get to the airport.
I decided to just get up and start getting ready. I went into the bathroom and hopped into the shower. Although it didn't last long, I felt better and tried to squash the feeling the dream left me with. As I got out, I heard an alarm go off, and someone in the next room got up. As I pulled a pair of sweatpants over my trousers, I heard a soft knock on the door.
"Niall, are you in there? If so, can you hurry up?" Courtney was up. She sounded extremely exhausted, and her voice was hoarse. I quickly pulled my shirt over my head and opened the door to let her in. She looked so horrible. Her face was pale, and it kind of looked like she was crying.
"What's wrong? Did you have that dream again?" I asked her. You could hear the concern in my voice.
"No, it was a dream about my dad, but it's okay, it wasn't that one." She said while making her way in. She never ceases to amaze me, always trying to play everything off and say she is fine. I knew it was that dream, it always is.
I walked out the door and checked to see if everyone was awake. This surprised me because Liam usually does it, as I got to the room with Liam and Zayn, my dream kept replaying in my mind.
Does she like Harry? Probably, most of our fans like him. She must likely think of me as just the friend I've always been.
"Niall, everything okay? You seem kind of lost in space." Liam said, pulling me back to reality.
"I just had a dream that kind of upset me," I said. I didn't want to tell them, but explaining it might help me, and then I wouldn't have it bottled up.
"Well, if it'll help, you can talk with me about it," Liam said. So I told Liam all about the dream, even down to the part about Courtney and Harry. "Wow," was all he could say. "Yeah, I know, and it felt like a stab in the heart when he kissed her. You don't think she likes Harry, do you?" I asked him. It wasn't very clear in my mind whether she did or not.
"No, I don't think she does, but I think Harry might like her. I'm not for sure, though." So Harry likes her, too? Harry knows how I feel about Courtney.
I was just getting ready to go ask Harry when I saw what time it was.
"Do you think we should take the rest of the boxes and put them in the van since we have to get ready to leave soon?"
"Yeah, then we can finally go home." Liam sounded excited about finally being home. I couldn't blame them; they had been here longer than I thought they would be. But they didn't want to leave until everything was okay, and I'm glad they stayed.
Courtney
As I changed into the blue sweatpants and matching hoodie and put my hair into a messy bun, I thought about my dream. Why did I have to have that dream again? Every time I do, it hurts even worse. It's just a replay of me walking in and finding my dad. Sometimes, it will change to me finding him in much crueler ways.
The only time I used to have it was when the anniversary of his death but it's months away. My dad died on December ninth, to be precise, he died two days before my birthday. After his death, my birthdays have been bad. We don't celebrate it anymore unless Niall tries to cheer me up with a surprise party, but since the one where I punched him, he hasn't had another one.
I walked out of my bathroom and looked at my now-empty room. The only things that were left were my bed, television, and dressers. All of my stuff was in boxes, and by the sound of it, the boys were putting the rest of them into the van. Looking out my window, I can be right. All of them were in the van. I quickly unplugged my phone, grabbed the charger, and ran downstairs. Well, that is, if you can walk as fast as I can in these boots, running.
As I got downstairs, I walked into the kitchen and saw my mom crying. I hated to see that. I didn't want her to be sad.
"Mom, please don't cry. It will make me cry, and we both don't want that. We have to leave in a few minutes." I said while wrapping her in a hug. I guess I didn't take my advice, and I felt the tears fall down my cheek.
"Courtney, it's okay. I just hate seeing my baby girl grow up!" he said while wiping away her tears and pulling apart from our hug.
"I know Mom and remember I will always be your baby girl. No matter how old I am." I turned around when I heard a chorus of "awhhhs". I glared at them and mouthed a 'shut up.' I then turned back to my mom.
"I love you, Mom, and about the conditions, I agree to both. I'll let you know how the second one works out." I said while giving her a very cheeky wink. "Okay, I love you too, and have a safe trip! Call me when you can." I gave her one last hug and kissed her on the cheek before I walked out with the boys to get into the car.
I will tell you now that the whole hour ride from my house to the airport, I clung to my seat belt. Every time Louis took his eyes off the road, I would yell and cringe at Liam, who sat beside me. I was sitting directly behind Louis. Once we got to the airport, the guys told me that the boxes would be taken care of and we wouldn't have to deal with them. Apparently, they have already arranged for them to travel in the plane and be taken to the house directly. Thankfully, there were no fans and paparazzi at the airport at four in the morning.
When we walked in, the place was pretty quiet, and there weren't that many people. We finally got everything situated and were just about to take a seat when they called our flight. We were boarding, and in a few short hours, we would be in London. I can't wait, I thought to myself.
Soon enough, we were in the air and able to unlock our seat belts, which meant that the boys immediately turned on a movie they picked. "I'm going to go change and use the bathroom. I'll be right back," I said to the boys who were all watching some movie that was on the screen in front of them. But as I grabbed my bag that was on the ground, I went through each section until I came to the last one in the back. I was almost to the bathroom when I got this feeling in the pit of my stomach that just didn't feel right. I looked around the cabin, seeing that everyone was asleep or not paying attention to me, except for a man sitting at the end of the row in the far back. His gaze locked with mine. I didn't know why, but I got a sick feeling in my stomach. I broke the stare and pushed myself into the bathroom.
Once I changed into some different clothes and pulled my hair out of its messy bun. I brushed the knots out, deciding to leave it down for the rest of the flight, and then put the dirty clothes into the bag and looked at myself. I was confused. On one note, I was happy, but the guy sitting in that one seat made me feel uneasy. As I unlocked the door and opened it, I came face to face with the same man that I had a bad feeling about. Seeing him that close scared the shit out of me.
"Hello?" I said I didn't want to be rude, but he was seriously creeping me out. Why was he so close?
"Your hair." He murmured as he grabbed a strand that I had moved to cover my face, thinking that he was looking at it. I was wrong. "It's so lovely. May I have a strand as a keepsake?" He asked, causing me to stand there confused by his words. Why in the world would he ask a question like that?
"Uh, I have to go," I said as I ran away from him and back to my seat. When I finally sat down, the boys all looked at me weirdly, but I just waved it off, not wanting to start a commotion. After that encounter, my butt stayed glued to my seat, hair going back into a frantic bun, and once we landed, I made sure that we were the last ones off the plane. I did not want another encounter with that man. He scared the shit out of me.
By the time we got into the van to go to the house, I was too excited about seeing the sights to remember what I just experienced. Even if everyone fell asleep as soon as they got settled into their seats, I watched wide-eyed as we traveled to the vacation house.
As the van slowed to a stop, I looked out my window to see a huge house. The silhouette was the only thing I could tell at the moment. "Gentlemen and ladies, we are here." The driver said.
"Holy shit." I breathed out, knowing it was huge. Way bigger than I was used to.
"Are you ready to start a new summer here?" I looked to see Niall staring at me. He always left me flabbergasted. Those electric blue eyes, his amazing smile. I lost my thought for a second.
"I'm as ready as I will ever be!"
