Maine Mendoza-Faulkerson was in a hurry to go home. Aside from the fact that she doesn't want to be stuck in traffic in the rain, she plainly misses her kids. The children are at home today because today was declared a no school day because of the storm. She initially thought of bringing them with her to the studio but thought the better of it because of the rains. Her husband Richard who was on his way to pick her up, was assigned to the barangay today, she didn't want him to, being honest with herself, the chances are big that RJ will get wet in the rains today and knows that her husband has weak lungs and can easily gets sick. But Ninong Jose is assigned with her in APT studios for the segment Little Miss Philippines. Jose has apologized quite a few times to her knowing she likes Richard staying with her at the studios. He even volunteered to talk to Bossing to swap places, but Richard will be hosting Little Mr. Pogi once the Little Miss Philippines is done. He'll be back in the studio eventually. And truth be told, Richard likes to be assigned to the barangay every now and then. That's when he gets the chance to see and talk to people he normally wouldn't encounter in his daily activities. Sometimes, he brings the older kids, Thirdy, Theo and Aycee with him. To show them how the "other side" lives and how lucky they are to be born into a comfortable life. RJ and Meng are teaching their kids life lessons; how to appreciate simple things, that money is not the end all and be all of everything, to always find an opportunity to help and be a blessing to others, and above all, to always thank the Lord for every blessing they receive may they be big or small. Maine does the same when she gets assigned to the barangay.
R: *calling M* Ma, malapit na ko sa studio. Ready ka na?
M: *over the phone* Hi daddy! Yes po, just a few things to gather then I'm all set. Parking nalang or pasok ka pa?
R: Pasok. May pinapabigay kay Ninong Jose from barangay nag promise ako dun sa tao na ako mismo mag aabot sa kanya. Matagal na yata nyang kaibigan yung matandang nagbigay. Binigyan din tayo eh, isang bilao na biko. Aldub fan din daw sila ng asawa nya.
M: Ay wow, thank you kamo. Favorite ni Aycee yan. Sige sabihan ko si Ninong. Hintayin nalang kita dito. Ingat ha, dahan dahan sa daan, di kailangan magmadali. Mama Ten, can you hear me?
MT: Yes Meng?
M: Pag bumilis yan mag drive, paluin mo sa kamay or sapakin mo. You have my permission.
MT: Yun lang pala eh. Ayan RJ narinig mo si madam, may permiso akong sapakin ka. *snickers*
R: *addresses MT* Sapakin mo mukha mo. *rolls his eyes*
M: Ano yun RJ?
R: Wala po, sabi ko po dahan dahan lang naman talaga ko mag drive. Malapit na ko Ma, should be there in about 15.
M: Good. Kala ko nag rereklamo ka eh.
R: Di ah. Ako pa ba? Takot ko lang sa misis ko *glaring at MT who's laughing silently* Sige na Ma, less than 15 mins siguro andyan na ko. Love you! Mwaaah!
M: Okay, ingat pa din ha. Love you too! Kiss kiss! *R then hangs up*
Ninong Jose: *coming from behind M* Sino yang kiss kiss mo dyan? Sumbong kita sa asawa mo eh.
M: Ninong Jose! Para namang eng eng to, sino pa ba sa palagay mo?
Jose: *laughs* nagbibiro lang naman. Parating na ba si Richard?
M: Parating na po mga 15 minutes daw. May ibibigay daw po sa inyo. Pinabigay ng isang kaibigan nyo daw sa barangay di naman nabanggit ni RJ yung name. Mamaya po pagdating nya.
Jose: Ah ganun ba, sino kaya yun? Hintayin ko pala talaga si RJ. Kumusta na nga pala kayo mag asawa? Tagal na nating di nakapag kwentuhan ah. Ang mga bata?
M: Ayos lang po. Busy pa din sa trabaho, sa mga bata, at sa negosyo. Wala nga school today kaya riot na naman yan pag uwi namin.
Jose: Dami nyo kasing anak eh *laughs* Ilang taon na nga ulit yung kambal? Parang kaka-party lang natin eh.
M: Haha! Nag two years old sila nung January. They're all growing like weeds. Nakuha nila lahat kay RJ yung appetite nila, buti nalang din. Di ako nahirapan sa pagkain nila, di sila mapili. Kahit ano ibigay mo kakainin. Nakikita din kasi nila magana kumain si daddy nila kaya ginagaya.
Jose: Eh kayo mag asawa kumusta naman? Palagi pa din ba kayo nag aaway?
M: Di naman palagi Ninong. Grabe ka naman sa min. Normal naman sa amin ang may tampuhan, normal naman sa mag asawa yun di ba. Lalo pag di kami agree when it comes to the kids.
Jose: Normal naman ang paminsan minsang pagtatalo, boring kaya ng buhay nyo pag di kayo nag aaway. *laughs* Eh ikaw, masaya ka naman ba? Dami mo ng binawas sa trabaho mo. Balita ko may tinanggihan ka naman na pelikula, mukhang maganda ang storya at casting pero sa abroad ang shoot kaya inayawan mo. Di ka ba nagsisisi medyo napaaga ang pag aasawa at pag aanak nyo? May mga opportunities na kayo na pinalampas. Lalo na sayo at ikaw ang babae.
M: Naku Ninong, chismis ka ha! *laughs* I am very much happy with my life right now. Ikaw anong nakikita mo sa akin? Kay RJ? Sa amin? Mukha ba kaming di masaya? Wala po akong pinagsisisihan. Everything happened and was done in the right time. Kung di kami nagpakasal at nag baby eh di wala kaming Thirdy, Theo, Aycee, Sieg and Seb. I can't imagine my life without my children and my husband. They are my world. Di ko alam san ako pupulutin kung wala sila. Totoo nga yung sinabi nila, pag nagka anak ka na balewala na lahat. The accolades, recognitions, yang mga awards na yan. Secondary nalang lahat yan. Mas importante sakin ngayon mapalaki namin ng maayos mga anak namin. Isang 'I love you Mommy or isang Thank you Mommy' lang beats out all the prizes and trophies. Sasamahan pa yung ng mga kisses at yakap, naku 7th heaven! We live for those!
Jose: *smiles* Nanay na nanay ka na talaga. Mabuti naman, alam ko naman napakasaya nyo mag asawa. Yun ang nakikita ko sa mga mata at kilos nyo. Tunay na kasiyahan. Pati ang mga bata, masaya din naman sila at naalagaan ng mabuti. Tama ka yun ang importante sa lahat, ang pamilya mo. Naalala ko nung dati bago palang kayong mag nobyo pag nag aaway kayo ni Richard, kabi-kabila ang sumbong nyo samin ni Ninong Wally nyo. Basta andito lang kami kung kailangan nyo ng kausap o mga payo. Di rin naman kami perpekto alam nyo yan. pero bilang mas nakakatanda mas may karanasan naman kami kahit paano sa mga ganyan.
M: Salamat po, at di naman po ako pinipigilan ni RJ sa mga projects. Sya nga itong laging nagsasabi sakin na I should accept this, I should get those. Ako po mismo ang may ayaw lalo na kung malalayo sa mga anak ko. Di ko kaya Ninong, iiyak lang kasi ako kasi mami-miss ko sila tapos mag-aalala kasi di ko sila nakikita. I won't be able to concentrate on my work pag ganun, sayang lang. Maliliit pa masyado ang mga anak ko para malayo sakin ng ganun katagal. Pag lumaki na siguro ng konti. Sabi ko nga din kay RJ, kung para sakin talaga yun, tadhana na mismo ang gagawa ng paraan para mapunta sakin.
Jose: Mabuti naman. Natutuwa nga ako sayo kanina sa Little Miss Philippines, ang galing mo sa mga bata, nanay na nanay. Hay masaya ako para sa inyo Menggay..
*hugs and kisses M's temple*
R: *arriving at the studio* Ninong! Bakit? Anong meron? Anong nangyari?
Jose: Makasigaw ka naman Alden Richards! Bakit?
R: Eh yakap mo asawa ko eh.
Jose: Yakap lang may nangyari na?! Bigwasan kaya kita?!
R: *chuckles* Sorry na po Ninong. Wala naman po nangyari?
Jose: Wala! Natutuwa lang ako ikako sa inyong mag asawa at mukhang masaya kayo. Binabawi ko na at sinisigawan mo ko!
R: Ninong! Hindi po, hindi po. Sorry na po *clutches Jose's hands*
Jose: Ako nama'y madaling kausap.. may dala ka ba dyan? *elbows R*
R: *laughs* Ano po bang gusto nyo magpapadala po ako. Ay may padala po sa inyong biko galing Pasig. Apat na bilao eto. Isa daw po sa inyo, isa sa amin ni Meng at dalawa para sa lahat ng dabarkads. Bigay po ni Kuya Mar Taps, yan daw po tawag nyo sa kanya. Matagal nyo daw po syang kaibigan, akala nya daw po nasa barangay kayo kanina. Pinakisuyo nalang sakin sabi ko ako nalang po ang mag aabot sa inyo ng personal.
Jose: Ay oo! Si Mar Taps! Matagal ko na ngang kaibigan yan, may binigay bang number? Tawagan ko.
R: Meron po. *shows his notepad on his iphone where he wrote down the number*
Jose: Very good! Abswelto ka na bata. Ay hindi pa pala! Pa lunch ka bukas, gusto ko yung Laoya saka crispy pata. Sakto maulan masarap yun!
R: *laughs* Sige po. *turns to M* Hi Ma! *kisses M*
M: *chuckles* Kala ko di mo ko babatiin eh. *kisses R back*
R: Ready ka na? Uwi na tayo inaantok ako eh.
M: Do you want me to drive? Matulog ka sa byahe.
R: Nope, I can manage. Mag sing along ka nalang on the way para di ako antukin, sabay kayo ni Mama Ten *laughs*
M: Bastos ka. Mama Ten lika ako mag drive iwanan natin tong damulag na to!
R: Huy! *hugs M* Mommy alam na alam mo na gustong gusto ko pag kumakanta ka.
M: Tse!
Jose: Patay ka dyan Richard.. *laughs* Tigilan nyo na nga yan. Maulan ngayon Menggay, masarap may kayakap. *pushes M to R's arms and laughed again* Lika, tikman nalang natin yung biko kung ganun pasin kasarap. *hooks an arm each on R&M*
Less than an hour later they were finally bound for home. Traffic wasn't too bad considering it's lashing outside. They arrived home in just an hour. The kids were just waking up from their midday nap when they got home.
Thirdy: Mommy! *jumped on Maine's arms as soon as she got off the SUV*
M: Hello my love.. *hugs ands kisses Thirdy* Where's Theo?
Theo: Mommy *surprising Maine from behind* Bulagaaa! *laughs*
M: *laughs* Theo! *hugs and kisses her second born son* Where's Aycee? Ang kambal?
Mama Virgie: Good afternoon Meng, RJ. Ang kambal tulog pa. Si Aycee kanina pa nakasimangot di ko alam kung bakit. Nanonood lang sila ng bulaga kanina. Tuwang tuwa pa nga sya dun sa little miss philippines ginagaya nya, tapos ayun nag simangot na bigla. Dun lang sa room nya nag play nalang ng barbie dolls nya.
M: Hala! Bakit kaya?
MV: Ayaw nga sabihin kung bakit. Ayaw magsalita. Sinamahan nalang ni Ninay sa kwarto nya at ayaw lumabas hanggang sa makatulog na. Andun pa din ayaw maglaro dito. Nagpahatid na nga lang ako ng meryenda dun at ayaw talaga lumabas.
R: Anong nangyari sa prinsesa ko? Akyat ako Ma.
M: Huy teka ako din. *as the couple both went to Aycee's room*
R: *opens Aycee's room* Aycee anak, daddy and mommy are home na.
Aycee: *quietly just playing with her dolls*
M: Aycee love.. come here anak.
Aycee: *not moving, still playing with her dolls*
Ninay: Kanina pa po ganyan yan. Nanonood lang kami kanina ng eat bulaga, ang saya saya pa nya tapos biglang naging ganyan.
M: *approaches Aycee* Aycee ko, kiss naman mommy. Kanina pa kami ni daddy dito sa house di mo pa kami kiss.
Aycee: *finally speaks* Daddy only. *got up and hugged and kissed her daddy*
R: How about mommy, princess?
Aycee. No. Daddy only. Don't want mommy.
M: Ay hala anong ginawa ko bakit ayaw sakin ng anak ko.. *sadness evident in her face*
Thirdy: Aycee, you kiss mommy.
Aycee: No! Daddy only! *tightens her hug with R refusing to even look at M*
R: *frowns* Aycee.. you're making mommy sad, look she's sad na. You kiss mommy na dali.
Aycee: No! No! I don't want mommy! *she screams and started crying*
M: Wag mo na pilitin daddy.. *still sounding sad and confused as to why her only daughter is behaving like that*
R: *rubbing Aycee's back and shushing her* Sige ako na kakausap. Everyone out of the room muna.
M: *nods sadly, getting teary-eyed* Silipin ko na muna ang kambal. *approaches R to touch Aycee's back but the child just snuggled more into R's neck still not looking at M*
R: *when everyone had gone out of the room* Now Athena Celestine, what is wrong? I don't like the way you're behaving with your mother.
Aycee: *pouts and continues to cry* I don't want mommy!
R: Bakit nga? What did mommy do?
Aycee: She doesn't like me anymore! She's giving me away! *cries and hiccups*
R: Ha? I don't understand. Did she say that?
Aycee: I saw.. in the tv today. She was hugging a girl, and kuya Thirdy said Mommy's going to bring her home and she will sleep on my bed and play with my toys and she is mommy's baby and they're gonna throw me awaaaay! *she wailed*
R: Ay susmaryosep! Aycee anak, that's not true because we love you very much and you're our baby. Blessing ka sa amin ni Papa God, we are not throwing you away.
Aycee: Kuya said.. *continues to cry*
R: What kuya said is not true, I will talk to kuya later ha. The little girl mommy is hugging kanina sa tv is a contestant sa Little Miss Philippines. She was scared, kaya mommy hugged her kasi the little girl's mommy couldn't come near her yet.
Aycee: Kuya said mommy does not like me anymore.. dala ako sa forest mamayang night pag sleep ko tapos leave behind na daw ako duuunnn!! *continues to wail*
R: Hay jusko anak, I will say it again, that is not true. Mommy loves you very much. Halika we will talk to mommy, she's very sad now kasi di mo sya pinapansin kanina. You need to say sorry to mommy. Can we do that Athena?
Aycee: *hiccups and nods* ye—es daddy..
R: O sige, wipe your face na and drink some water then we'll look for mommy.
Holding Athena's hand, they went straight to the master's bedroom. There they found Maine standing by the window staring at the rain pouring outside. She was crying.
R: Ma..
M: *turns towards the voice and found R with Aycee standing in front of him with her head bowed down* O.. *hastily wiping her tears away* Gising na ang kambal. I just finished feeding them. Maliligo sana ako saglit.
R: *approaches M, cups her cheek with one hand, his other hand wiping her tears away, and kissing her forehead* Athena wants to tell you something.
M: *smiles at Aycee* Come Aycee.. sit with me *gesturing towards the padded rocking chair that's placed near the window in their room. She uses it often to lull her children to sleep in her arms*
Aycee: *approaching Maine but just stood infront of her* I'm sorry mommy.. *she whispers*
R: Athena..
M: *gestures to R with her hand to stop and let Aycee talk at her own pace* What is it Aycee love? *cups Aycee's cheeks with both hands and bends her head so she can hear Aycee speak*
Aycee: *started crying again and suddenly hugged her Maine* Don't throw me away mommy! I promise I will be good! Sorry mommy, sorry! *as she hid her face in the crook of her mommy's face* I'm sorry, I won't do it again! Don't throw me away mamayang night! *continues to cry*
M: Ha? *rubs Aycee's back and looks at R* Ano bang.. *Aycee's cry got louder* shhh my love.. It's alright. Who said we're going you throw you away?
Aycee: I saw you on tv hugging the little girl and Kuya said she will come home with you and sleep in my room and you're gonna throw me away mamayang night sa forest! *she continues to wail*
M: *looks at R who quietly chuckles and nods back* What little girl? Is that from the Little Miss Philippines? *she felt Aycee's nod on her neck* Oh Athena Celestine ng buhay ko, I hugged the little girl because she was scared. Her mommy couldn't come near her and she was starting to cry, so I hugged her so she won't be scared. Di ba when you get scared, and mommy or daddy aren't there you get hugged by others too, like Lola Pepe or Lola Virgie even ate Ninay or Josie, or even Lolo dy, or Lolo tay and Mommy La, it's the same thing anak. So no matter how many girls I hugged, I will still only love and cherish my very own baby girl and that is you. Do you know how much Mommy and Daddy prayed for you? Sabi ko kay Papa Jesus, please give me tbe sweetest baby girl who is beautiful and loving so he gave you to us. We will never throw you or anyone of your brothers away. Binibiro ka lang ni Kuya. That will never ever happen. Kaya wag na magtampo kay mommy ha. It's making mommy sad eh. It hurts here *gestures toward her heart* when you don't talk to me. Stop crying na baby love ko.. *wiping Aycee's tears*
R: *strokes Aycee's head and looks at M* Kakausapin ko si Thirdy mamaya.
M: *nods* Nagbibiro lang siguro yung anak mo but he needs to understand na may jokes na nakakasakit din like this. Mamaya kausapin ko din.
R: *nods back* I'll talk to him and Theo in a bit. *gestures to Aycee who's still in M's arms* Okay na kayo mag-ina? Silipin ko lang ang kambal tapos maliligo ako, parang kulang yung ligo ko kanina sa barangay eh, mabilisan.
M: Kasi naman ikaw, antigas ng ulo mo din. *shakes her head* Sige na maligo ka na, mamaya nalang ako pagtapos mo.
R: Eh ba't di nalang tayo sabay? *wiggles his eyebrows*
M: Daddy! *points at Aycee in her arms*
R: Malay naman nyan.. *calls to Aycee* Anak, you come with daddy we'll see the twins. Let mommy have a bath muna.
Aycee: Okay daddy. *turns to M* I love you mommy.. *kisses and hugs M*
M: *smiles* and I love you too very much my Aycee love, always. *hugs and kisses Aycee* There's biko downstairs, di ba that's your favorite? Ask Lola Virgie or ate Ninay to give all of you some.
Aycee: Biko! *claps her hands*
R: *smiles* Let's go! *taking Aycee's hand and looks at M again* Jacuzzi tayo Ma.. *smirks*
M: *shakes her head and puts both her hands to cover Aycee's ears* Landi talaga ng asawa ko.. *then smiles impishly* I do want to try that new bath bombs and oils that Luanne gave me earlier, it's from kamasutra .. *wiggles her eyebrows*
R: Kissing M on the cheeks and nose* 15 minutes Ma, start counting!
