Y/N POV
"Thanks", Dinah said aggressively taking Jai's bag away from me.
"You know you can't stay mad at me forever right?", I said grabbing Jai out of her car seat.
"I'm not mad you"
I sighed and closed my car door with my leg. I followed behind Dinah into the house and walked straight into the living room. Dinah sat down on the couch and turned on the tv while I gently placed Jai into her play pen. She's getting so big so quickly and it sort of feels like time is going by so fast. In fact, my birthday is coming up pretty soon so I'm pretty excited about that but I don't really know what I'm doing yet.
"So I'll pick the kids up in a few days?", I questioned.
"Yeah I guess", she said quietly.
I let out a huge sigh and gave Jai a kiss on the cheek before heading upstairs to tell the boys that I was leaving. When I walked into their bedroom, I saw Jax laying down playing video games while Jaid was knocked out sleeping in his bed.
"Hey buddy I just wanted to tell you I'm going back to my place", I whispered.
"Okay bye mama", Jax said putting his controller down.
He jumped off of his bed and ran over to me to give me a big hug. I swear nothing in this world makes me feel better than being with my kids.
"I love you buddy"
"I love you too"
"When your brother wakes up tell him that I'll call him later okay?"
"Okay"
I slowly pulled away and let him get back to what he was doing. I walked back downstairs to the living room to see if Dinah was still watching tv but she was texting on her phone instead. Not going to lie, every time I come over she looks better and better. I feel like such an idiot for how everything is downplaying between us but I also feel like what I'm doing is the right thing. It's been about 2 weeks since she asked me to move back in and there has been a lot of built up tension between us.
"I thought you left?", she spoke up.
"What you don't like me being here?", I said jokingly.
"You know what I mean", she chuckled.
"Yeah I know. I was just telling the boys bye"
"Oh okay"
"Yeah"
"So um what did you guys do today?", she asked me.
"We only went to Dave and Busters", I said honestly. "Jaid kept begging so I figured why not?"
"Sounds fun"
"Yeah it was"
"So what are you doing tonight?", she asked me.
"Probably gonna look over some files at work and watch some porn", I said honestly.
"Wow", she chuckled.
"Well I'm just being honest"
"You know you wouldn't have to do that if you would just move back in", she said walking towards me.
"I still wouldn't be getting some regardless", I said walking closer.
"You sure about that?", Dinah questioned brushing her nose up against mine.
"Positive", I said as our lips gently touched each other.
My eyes looked down at Dinah's fully exposed chest and quickly pulled her in for a kiss. Surprisingly, she happily obliged and kissed me back completely catching me off guard. We stood in the living room making out for a good 4 minutes without either of us trying to catch a breath. I swear it felt like the old days before we had kids or any of the drama going on between us. Eventually, Dinah slowly pulled away and we both took huge breaths before she spoke up.
"Wow I feel like an asshole now", she said quietly.
"Why? Was my kiss that bad?", I joked.
"I'm being serious", she said sitting back down on the couch.
"What's wrong DJ?"
Dinah just sat there not saying a word. She looked like she didn't know how to say what she had to say which really worried me but eventually she spoke up.
"Lauren kissed me two weeks ago", she said quietly.
"Huh? What do you mean she kissed you?", I asked confused. "Where the hell did she kiss you? On your cheek or something?", I joked.
"This isn't funny Y/N", she said sternly.
"Oh you're being serious?"
"Yes she confessed her feelings for me and then she kissed me on the lips"
"Did you kiss her back?", I questioned.
"Of course not", she said rolling her eyes.
"So when did you decide to ask me to move back in? Before or after that?", I wondered.
"Does that really matter?"
"It matters to me"
Dinah let out a sigh and said, "after".
I scratched the back of my head trying to figure out what the hell Dinah just told me. It took her two weeks to tell me about this and on top of that she probably only asked me to move back in based off of some guilt. I grabbed my keys and started walking out of the living room to leave. Dinah started walked behind me and quickly pulled me back by my T-shirt.
"Where the hell are you going?", she asked me.
"I'm going to beat Lauren's ass", I said pulling away.
"Baby wait calm down!", she said pulling me back. "C'mon thing about what you're about to do", she said giving me a sweet look.
"I think that I'm finally about to go beat Lauren's ass and now I have a better reason to", I said pulling away once more.
"Okay okay wait!", she yelled at me. "You can't only be mad at her", she said calmly.
"Why not? You just told me you didn't kiss her back"
"I didn't"
"Okay then what's the problem?", I asked angrily.
"I don't know how to tell you", she said shyly.
"I won't get mad just tell me what it is"
"You promise?", she questioned.
"I promise"
"Well a few years ago when we broke up Lauren and I kind of had sex", she said quickly.
My eyes burst right open when Dinah said that. What does she mean that they kind of had sex? Either you have sec or you don't. It's that simple.
"I'm trying to be as calm as possible because we have children in the house but what the hell do you mean you kind of had sex with your supposed best friend?", I asked calmly.
"Well we weren't together and she was just there. We were at the club and next thing I know we're in the bedroom"
"So you slept with her?"
"She gave me head for like two seconds", she said quietly.
"Oh my gosh are you serious?", I yelled. "It took you this long to tell me?"
"It was 5 years ago and it was really stupid babe"
"Whatever DJ. You seriously let me marry you before telling me some shit like this"
"So what you regret marrying me now?", she asked me.
"No I don't regret marrying you", I said honestly. "I just can't believe that you would go all these fucking years without telling me and then give me so much shit about the things that I do"
"I'm telling you now though Y/N"
"Yeah after Lauren kissed you. No wonder she hates me so much", I said walking away.
"Y/N wait baby I——"
"Don't worry I'm not going to Lauren's place. I'm going home then I'm going to work to clear my head so do me a solid and leave me the fuck alone"
I grabbed my keys once more and slammed the front door behind me. I didn't have much to say or do expect be really upset. I mean I kind of have the right to.
