"So you have an American Accent, I take it you're not from here?" Kyler looks at me as we're walking.
"Yeah we just moved here not too long ago." I smile
"What made you move? If you don't mind me asking" He smiles
"My dad got transferred here so we packed everything up and left! That was also the day I found my boyfriend cheating on me with my who I thought were best friends?" I laugh. "I thought it was the worst day of my life...but I was wrong.." I whisper the last part while kicking a rock around.
"What do you mean you were wrong?" He questions.
"I—Oh look! Ice cream!" I change the subject quickly and start running to the ice cream truck with kyler not far behind.
"One chocolate ice cream cone please. Do you want anything?" I ask kyler
"No I'm okay" he smiles
"Oh come on" I plead "my treat." I smile
"Fine. I'll have a vanilla ice cream cone" he laughs. I pay for our ice cream and we continue walking while eating it. We get to the park and swing for a little bit competing to see who can go higher and then jumping off.
We start to walk back home and once we get there our ice creams are almost all gone and we walk inside laughing
"Hey Hal, I see you guys had fun" my dad smiles. I think it's because it's a smile he hasn't seen in awhile or a laugh he hasn't heard in awhile.
"Yeah, oh and Kyler?" I partially ask
"Yeah?" He responds
"You've got a little something right there" I say and smear my ice cream on his nose and cheek.
I start laughing so hard I think I'm gonna pee "nice one Hailey, I think you have a little right here too" He smiles and smashes his all over my cheek and nose laughing.
"Oh my god we're a mess!" I start laughing again
"You're right, you guys are a mess." Harry walks in "Can I have a chat with you Hailey?" He asks
"Actually, dad, can Kyler stay for dinner?" I ask
"Sure" my dad smiles
"Alright Ky. That's your new nickname by the way." I smile "have you ever made twice baked spaghetti?" I ask seriously
"No I haven't. I make a hell of a cereal though" we laugh
"Okay then you can stick to the salad and I'll teach you haha" I smile
"Okay, But first can we get cleaned up a little?" He shyly asks.
"Right, yes, sorry. The bathroom is down the hall and to the left." I tell him and then run up to my bathroom upstairs in my room to wash my makeup and ice cream off of myself, thank god it didn't get in my hair. I sigh and walk back downstairs
"Harry will be staying for dinner tonight as well" my dad says and I scoff walking into the kitchen. Great.
