Yang pulled up at their house and slowly came to a stop.
She got up trying her best not to wake Blake.

Seeing she was still fast asleep, she picked her up in her arms with ease and headed toward the front door.
Before she even got there, the door busted open, with Ruby gleefully standing behind it.

"Hey Ya-

Yang quickly raised a finger to her lips signaling Ruby to be quiet.

Just now noticing Yang with a sleeping Blake in her arms, she replied with a quiet "Oooh sorry."

Yang nodded and Ruby stood aside and held the door open.

Weiss spotted the two partners and waved.

Yang nodded at her and went to drop Blake off in her room as Ruby waited patiently.

Ruby turned to Weiss sitting at the island table in the kitchen drinking her coffee.

"Do you have to be so loud all the time?" Weiss said before taking another sip from her mug.

"ACTUALLY, yes I do Weiss. It's the only way short people like me get attention!" Ruby stated pointing a thumb at herself.

Weiss could swear there was a little pride in that statement, too.

"Is that so?"

"Yes it is SO." Ruby stuck a tongue out at her.

A clicking sound echoed through the hall and both girls turned their attention to the sound.

"What are you two debating about now?" Yang said coming out of the hallway.

"Yaaang, Weiss is making fun of my short-ness!" Ruby whined.

Yang smiled and shook her head, leaning back on the wall, arms folded.

"I did no such thing."

"You looked at me with judge-y eyes." Ruby said with a fake pout.

"No one is judging your Napoleon complex, Ruby."

"My Napa-what?"

Weiss held her head down with her eyes closed, gripping the bridge of her nose.

"You're gonna give Weiss an aneurysm, little sister." Yang giggled.

Weiss sighed.
"ANYWAY, Yang have you talked to Blake yet?"

"What do ya mean? We talk all the time."

"I mean did you talk to Blake."

"Am I missing something? You just said the same thing." Ruby stated, confused.

"What- oh. OOOH. No, I haven't actually." Yang shrugged.

"Are you serious? If you don't I will."

"Huh??" Ruby glanced between the two.

"Ugh..Weiss dont- It really just isnt the time." Yang replied rubbing the back of her head.

"It never is with you!"

"Yup. Just ignore the short kid..." Ruby mumbled, followed by an eye
roll.

"She seems like she has a lot going on. Not my place to say."

"Then that's the perfect time."

"Pft Im gonna go find Oscar." Ruby said walking off.

Weiss watched Ruby walk out the door then glared hard at Yang.

"Go be the shoulder to cry on, for gods' sakes."

"And what? Take advantage of her mental state to get what I want?"

"Of course not! But I'd bet she'd appreciate you being there."

"Im always there. I dont know what the hell you want me to do."

"Look Yang, its not about what I need from you its about what Blake needs from you. A long time ago she thought you hated her-and she's still getting past what happened. You guys flirt all the time, but sometimes there needs to be more for things to be concrete. She's probably confused."

"You make it sound like it's easy."

"It isnt but you're making it harder than it needs to be."

Yang took a minute to think over what Weiss said. Maybe she was right? Maybe she needed to try harder?

She already tried. She does try. If Blake couldnt tell how much she liked her by now, she honestly didnt know what else she could do.

It was already hard enough to put her own feelings on pause when she got with Sun.

There were too many factors put into play.
What if she starts liking Sun more than a friend?
What if she wasnt good enough?
What is Blake was just entertaining Yang's flirtation but didnt feel anything for her?

More importantly, Yang got vibes from Blake, but that could just be wishful thinking. Considering her past relationship with....Adam, and her short time with Sun, does she even play for that team? There was Illia too, but they never dated and no one really knew if Blake liked her back. Yang doubted it.
Weiss thinks she plays for both teams, but how would she know?

Yang fell silent considering the pros and cons.

Obviously she wanted nothing more than to be with Blake, but she was honestly just...scared.

"I can see the gears turning in your head. Stop overthinking and just do it." When the time is "right", of course." Weiss said finger quoting.

Yang ran a hand through her golden hair.
"I guess. I'll go check on her now."

Noticing her missing sister, she looked around.
"Wait, where'd Ruby go?"
____

Blake stirred around in her sleep, feeling herself waking up.
With a yawn and a stretch she sat up.
As she took in her environment and processed what she was seeing, she wondered how she got here.
Had she been asleep the entire time?

Her ears quickly reacted to a knock on the door.

"Come in." Blake said with a tired voice.

The door creaked open slightly but Blake couldn't see anyone.

"Are ya decent?" Yang asked behind the door.

"Why would I- ... I said come in didnt I?"

"Truuuue. Just dont want to make the same mistake twice."

Blake remembered the incident and felt heat rise up in her cheeks.
Yang apologized that day but let's just say she really didn't mind at all.

She really didn't see why Blake did though, she had a great body.

Blake laughed awkwardly. "Yeah.."

"So what are you doing up already, Sleeping Beauty?"

"What do you mean?"

"Eh, you usually cat-nap for more than 20 minutes." Yang replied walking over to Blake's bed.

Blake grabbed the nearest pillow and flung it at Yang. "Oh shut up."

Yang dodged it and chuckled.
"That wasn't very nice!"

Yang grinned cheekily and saw this as an opportunity to mess with her.
"Even Ruby throws better than-"

Yang was cut off by the fastest throw she ever saw in her life.

She forgets about Blake's amazing reflexes sometimes.

Yang put a hand to her face, mouth still slightly open from the surprise attack.
Her eyes turned from the pillow back to Blake.

"Oh you really fucked up now, Blake." Yang stared at her with an evil grin.

She didnt break eye contact, slowly moving a hand behind her back secretly searching for another literal throw pillow.

She waited.
Blake squinted her eyes daring Yang to make a move.

-and finally Yang launched the pillow as hard as she could.
Hitting Blake dead in the face.

Satisfied with her success, Yang fist pumped.
...but something wasnt right.

Yang looked up and saw Blake, or what she thought was Blake, disappear into a dark cloud.
Then there was nothing.

A shadow clone.

"Dammit, Blake. You're cheating!"
She turned around to look for the real Blake only to come face to face with a giant pillow flying towards her head.

Yang's eyes widened but wasn't quick enough to react. The force sent her flying backwards on the bed. "..."

"You were saying?" Blake said cockily with a hand on her hip.

She looked at Yang.
She was lying with her back on the bed with the pillow resting on her face.

Blake wondered if she hit her too hard.
She walked over closer to the bed and poked her leg.
"Yang?"

Blake leaned down getting ready to remove the pillow from her face.

Out of no where she felt her wrist being grabbed. Yang shot up and threw Blake on the bed.

"Y'know that actually hurt a little, you cheater." Yang said restraining her wrists.

Blake leveled a glare at her.
Yang gave her a wink in response.

Blake tried her best not to blush, although it was pretty hard not to. She was in a questionable position and Yang's winks and smirks always made her weak.

Blake wondered if Yang felt it too.
She stared at her eyes for a moment. Those beautiful pools of violet always mesmerized her. They were almost hypnotizing.

Blake shook herself out of her thoughts and realized she was caught staring.
She looked up at her and saw Yang's famous smirk.

There it was again. The flirting, the unneeded psychical contact.
But Blake didnt mind.
She never really did.

Sometimes she just wanted to follow her emotions and let them take over but it was terrifying. Blake didnt know what to do about it or if she even should do anything about it.

Noticing the compromising position Yang had her in, the heat began rising again.
She was sure Yang could see her blush now.

Her feelings were hard to hide all the time. Yang would do something to make her weak in the knees but then she'd remember the past and become consumed with guilt. She felt the need to fake everything because she thinks she simply just isnt good enough for her.
She knows Yang deserves better.

Yang's grin fell as soon as she noticed Blake's eyes glazing over with a tear about to run down her cheek.
"Blake? What's wrong?"

"I...I-I cant do this anymore. Its eating me up inside, and..and I dont want to ruin our friendship."

"Woah, where'd that come from? You arent ruining anything. What are you ta-"

Yang silenced herself as she watched Blake close her eyes and tears fall down her cheeks, ears flattened on her head.

Yang released her grip on her wrists. She wiped the tears from her eyes.
"It's gonna be okay, Blake you know im here for you and you can talk to me."

"That's the problem! WHY are you here for me? I dont deserve you, you should be hating me. I have feelings for you and thats WRONG because-
Yang cut her off and leaned down, their faces inches apart.

Yang pondered over what she was about to do in her mind, but it was time to grow a pair.

Blake stared up at her, sniffling.
Yang closed her eyes, and pressed her lips against hers. Something she wanted to do for a long time.

Blake's eyes widened for a moment before kissing her back.

It was passionate and filled with emotion, but to Blake's dismay ended too fast.

Yang pulled away and looked down staring at those amber eyes.

She smiled. "Would I have done that if I 'secretly hated' you?"
It did make Blake feel better. It was reassuring.

"It wouldn't be the first time someone I had feelings for switched up on me."

"But here is the hole in your logic." Yang said holding up her index finger. "That's them and Im me. You can't compare me to some ass-"

"-Wait did you just say you had feelings for me?" Yang smiled like a kid on Christmas morning.

"...I did. I thought that was clear..."
Blake began to blush, slightly embarrassed she had to say it again.

"Maybe it was. I just needed to hear you say it."
A huge weight lifted off Yang's shoulders and she released a breath she didn't even realize she was holding in.

Blake DID kiss her back after all, but for all Yang knew she did that just to spare her feelings.

"But-but you know what? It isnt even your fault. A lot of things were unclear on my end too."

Yang sat up all the way and seated herself beside red-cheeked faunas.

"I mean...you almost died like 3 times, Blake. You'd think I would've admitted something by now. You could've died and I would've lost you..and you wouldn't have even known how I felt about you and...and I would've regretted that for the rest of my life."

Blake looked at Yang, but she wasn't staring back. She was just staring straight ahead not looking at anything particular.

She continued.
"-If anything, the smart thing would be to make the most out of the time we have left. We're huntresses, that's a dangerous job. Aura only gets you so far. I should've done this sooner."

Blake studied Yang's face, taking in everything she said. She wasn't wrong..
How long have they both been holding that in?

"Yang..."

"No, Blake.
The Apathy almost got you in that house and Adam almost killed you..twice. What if you had died?"

Blake shuttered a bit after hearing his name, she watched Yang's eyes turn red.

"It honestly pisses me off everyday that someone who claimed to have loved you would do the things he did. He tried to kill you and take you away from someone who actually does love you."

Yang was upset, probably even a bit nervous. I guess that's why she was rambling.

Blake tried to ignore the word "love". It scared her.
Because not to long ago, a red-haired faunas boy said the same thing, before he turned into a monster.
He was abusive, both psychically and mentally.
He was obsessive and possessive.
Whatever that was, it wasn't love.

But she wasnt him.

"I don't know what to say...You've obviously had a lot on your mind."

Blake didn't like to see Yang not be her usual bubbly, goofy self.

She looked into her eyes, now back to their original violet hue, and awaited a response.

"You don't have to say anything, Blake. I guess Im just venting....but I just need you to know the difference between me and that fucking shithead is that I meant what I said. I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it, and..I wouldn't just say it, I'd show you." Her voice was low and sweet. Blake could tell it was genuine.
To be fair, she can't recall a time when Yang wasn't genuine.

The raven-haired faunas fell silent.
She knew she could trust her. She knew she had nothing to worry about. It felt good that her feelings were reciprocated.

Yang turned her head and looked at her with such an intensity, it made her heart jump.

She returned the stare, and Yang replied with a small half smile.

Blake didn't know what she should do, but she knew what she wanted to do.
